Szamo's_Ammo
Saw this picture on Bebo and feel it sums up the Tory attitude towards starving children.

The sheer rage he induced in tories is unbelievable. Might be a few awkward Tory supporters of Man United at old Trafford when were able to re-enter football grounds. I’m all for the millionaire footballer embarrassing the Tories now; let’s wait and see where he’s at politically in 10 years.
Popular Post vikingTON
It's a stupid story pretty much all round. Even by their own standards the Tories are stupid for making child malnutrition a line in the sand given that they're throwing money at consultancies and all sorts of utter shite like no tomorrow. There's also no guarantee that they won't cave in as well. At the same time though people are asking the wrong question by asking why children shouldn't get free school meals for a single week over a holiday. The issue is that the entire welfare system in this country has been degraded by neoliberal scrounger-bashing policies to the point where families cannot feed their children. This salami sliced, think of the poor weans special pleading simply lets the government get away with keeping the overall safety net as insufficient and cruel as it is. The same goes for the week's fighting over furlough support. Businesses should have been kept in deep freeze while their employees accessed a proper social safety net until they go back to work. Instead we have a piecemeal nonsense as different forms of employment get covered and others do not and with different rules and eligibilities all over the country. It's an inefficient, bureaucratic farce when simply slapping a one size fits all benefit set at a much higher level than the enforced poverty of Universal Credit would be a better solution. Something like a Universal Basic Income that would have been of huge benefit during this crisis but has slipped off the radar in favour of these ridiculously hyped public rows over marginalia.

D Angelo Barksdale
Tory MP's now sending 'debate me you coward' tweets to Rashford. You won't find a bigger bunch of wretched cretins anywhere.

Ludo*1
And to compound his nightmare, before this, he offered Rashford to meet at a school in particular and the governor of said school has replied:
NotThePars
Ben Bradley's doing his damnedest to make sure his most popular tweet isn't an apology to Jeremy Corbyn.
tamthebam
Maybe that fud Bradley should meet Rashford on neutral ground. Ruel Street comes to mind...
DeeTillEhDeh
Bradley definitely has the air of an Alan B'stard about him.
BFTD
Ten years of Tory rule and a whopping majority to sit on for another four doesn't half cause the mask to start slipping. By the time 2024 rolls around, they won't even remember how to put it back on.

Where do I sign up?
Granny Danger
There will be Tory voters who agree with Rashford, some of them may even make a personal contribution to a meal for a family who needs one. However they will continue to vote Conservative for what they perceive as narrow self interest.

SandyCromarty
Margaret Thatcher as Education Secretary removed free milk from schools, the tag Thatcher Milk Snatcher followed her throughout her political career. Possibly this school meals fiasco will be similar for the clown. Edited October 24, 2020 by SandyCromarty
Detournement
The contrast between the half a billion to people who can afford and have access to restaurants and not funding this is absolutely disgusting. When you add in the billions being troughed by the likes of Serco and Deloitte it really gets guillotine/rope/wall blood pumping.
