The Eurozone had entry criteria, did Greece meet it?  Who audited them?

It was the responsibility of the EU to ensure that members were fit to join the Eurozone

No it wasn't.  The Eurozone doesn't = the EU. Greece isn't some pensioner that's been fleeced by a dodgy geezer, it's fully capable of making it's own decisions.

The loans were not to the country of Greece, answer the question.

You're asking a question that makes no sense because you don't understand or are ignorant of the facts. So, no.

Here HTH.

Robert Jenrick at it again (& judging from the email in the thread, again & again & again & again & again & again)

Build build build while the Housing Secretary is openly corrupt. If he broke any rules, just get rid of them. Bloody red tape.

Bishop Briggs/Strichener doing a Brexiteer tag team.

The EU austerity imposed on Greece has absolutely nothing to do with Brexit.

If this is how you cover economics in class then our kids deserve better.

Here is a list of all the Eurozone members that are not in the EU

And here is a list of all the treaties that were signed to setup the Eurozone that were not created by the EU:

Your position on anything EU is entirely to do with your views as a Brexiteer you humourless fanny.

Blaming ordinary Greek people for the financial crisis is like turning up at a manky hospital in the UK and telling someone who has caught MRSA that they deserve it because the NHS isn't funded properly. It's the height of stupidity.

Everyone else involved other than ordinary Greeks profited hugely from the scam.

Who allowed it into the Eurozone?  The EU is 100% to blame for Greece's troubles.  Without the Eurozone, the economy would have had to adjust in the same way as Iceland.  The EU could not allow that as Greece would have had to leave the Eurozone and then Italy would have followed.  Dominoes.

This is illiterate.

And if anything disproves that domino theory it's the last 10 years.

You will find that I posted similar sentiments before the term brexiteer was ever used.

But let's not get away from your need to use the brexiteer tag to attempt to make it about the poster rather than the topic.

That's not to say that Greece should shoulder the burden of blame - Germany and France must have know the reality regards the structural issues with the Greek economy - but blithely ignored this because politically it was more important to have Greece in than out of the Eurozone.

Is this quote from a rabbit brexiteer?  It is nearly a mirror copy of what I have already posted.  Yet where did I pull this from?  Why it was from your good self.

Now f**k up with your brexiteer pish you hypocrite.
