zidane's child
Farage gets too much credit for my liking by certain parts of the MSM. He tried many a time to be an MP in places where the gammons were ten a plenty and he still couldn’t even manage that. I think he came third in South Thanet in the 2015 GE IIRC. Lets not forget UKIP only returned a whopping one MP (yes that’s ONE) during the party’s peak. UKIP was/is full of morons/racists who take to punching their fellow members at UKIP events. Russell Brand nailed it when he said he was a “pound shop Enoch Powell.”

Jmothecat2
Not having this, he's up to something. He doesn't want to be associated with the brazen, thuggish racism of Tommy Robinson. It's not the philosophy that's the problem but the way it's delivered. Farage has never had a problem with being associated with people who express racist views, but he has always been the more old fashioned, upper-middle class good old English chap style racism because he knows that large parts of the electorate and media will find that acceptable. The more in your face racism of the EDL is a different story altogether. It's the same sordid beliefs underpinning it all though.

Loondave1
Ungrateful little b*****ds. If one good thing can come of brexit, it's getting those wee rodents back up the chimney's.Think we may need chimney widening campaign first to fit the chubsters up there.

Benjamin_Nevis
Lets not forget UKIP only returned a whopping one MP (yes that’s ONE) during the party’s peak. You could argue that was more down to his popularity with his constituents rather than his party policies. He defected from the Tories. Did he actually win an election as a UKIP candidate? Genuinely can't remember.

yoda
lol @ anyone who sees Farage resigning from UKIP and thinks it's anything other than a man who doesn't want his reputation tainted "Taking a stand". What nonsense.

What nonsense. Doesn't really do anything for his reputation though. The only place he has any respect is with racist c***s, and his stance against racism will ruin his reputation with them. The only way quitting would help his reputation is if his last words as a member were "f**k the niggers".

On places like here where (most) folk are relatively well informed, that doesn't stand up to any scrutiny because, well, we all know he's a racist. In the actual real world, a lot of folk actually buy into his "I'm not a racist just expressing concerns over immigration" shtick. Distancing himself from Tommy Robinson means he can keep doing what he's doing. Really not difficult: is Farage taking a stand against Tommy Robinson because he's genuinely concerned about Islamophobia? No. Is he taking a stand so his public profile doesn't get contaminated by association? Erm, obviously. Don't dress it up as something it isn't - UKIP were consigned to irrelevance the moment Farage left them.

Folk might buy into it, but anyone who supports it is either openly racist, or doesn't know they're racist. So let's not dress it up as something it isn't. UKIP were consigned to irrelevance the moment Brexit was voted for. If it doesn't come to fruition, it'll either be them, or some other racist institution that takes it's place.
