Just general stuff that's helpful would be appreciated.
P45
Sewage runs down the sides of the street. It's like a sunny version of Perth.
tree house tam
Kerala is a cracking state in India. Cochin is not a bad city, and the locals are friendly down there. If you can get a boat out to sea at sunset its pretty spectacular. As its July you'll be roasting and probably getting pissed on with equal measure. Have a dander down by the Paradesi Synagogue, interesting area (Mattancherry/Fort Kochi I think), stay out of the Toddy "pubs" unless you want to lose your eyesight. Eat loads of fish curry as well. Good luck.Cheers Mozzamozza, actually canny wait it's been over 2 years since I've seen my mate who's getting married. Sewage runs down the sides of the street. It's like a sunny version of Perth.Just the way I like it P45.

tree house tam
Overall impressed with Kerala. Highlight was boat trip through the backwaters eating fish curry, with the fish I caught from the boat, drinking lots of whisky and watching the sun setting. I may add that this wasn't a conventional excursion as I knew the family of the guy who was running it. Every shit was solid as well, surprising as curry for every meal including breakfast would have me running for the bog here. Would do again.
NathanQP
Has anyone done the e-visa for India before? How long does it usually take

I've done it twice, and in both cases the email confirming the eVisa was issued about 24 hours after I applied. When you arrive in India, you'll still need to fill in the small customs form before going to the immigration desk. If you're flying in to Delhi, they're available along the back of the immigration hall. There are dedicated desks for eVisa holders which are clearly signposted.
gpo
Off to South Goa again in January, Palolem Beach for a major chill there as my wife and I did last January. Can’t wait. Glasgow to Dubai then Mumbai via Emirates then local flight to Goa. Great weather, food, chilled atmosphere, not expensive at all. Great way to get over the January blues.
Brian Mcculloch Glasgow
Been to India many times and its a great place with a charm thats hard to find in any other country I believe. Cochin is a beautiful place but summer is terribly hot. I prefer the northern states especially the mountains - the Himalayas.
gpo
In Palolem right now with temperatures of 32 degrees and lucky to be away from what I gather is really bad weather in some parts of home, Glasgow. Not boasting just saying. That said, gosh it’s hot here [emoji57]
gpo
Doing the India thing again this week, Palolem in South Goa for the third January in a row. So relaxing (although three flights to get there but two are Emirates so that’s good to be fair).

So relaxing (although three flights to get there but two are Emirates so that’s good to be fair). I’m not too familiar with Goa, but was speaking with a guy in my local who is heading out there and managed to get direct flights from Manchester. I was out living in Bangalore with work. Absolutely loved India and regret ever coming back. I’m considering a jaunt over for leisure in the summer and see some old friends! Amazing country!
