Tuchel subbed on Diaby for about 15 mins, then took him off for Nkunku. Monumental minter.

 I saw Nkunku subbed on for Diaby at the last minute, and assumed it was because he was some sort of good penalty taker. Wasn't in the original 5, and then humped his sudden death one out the Stade de France, so apparently not.

Didn't realise Diaby himself had only just come on, though. Madness.

What is the actual point of PSG?

I get a good laugh out of their continual failings as much as the next punter but their lack of the mental strength required at the elite level of the game infuriates me a bit.

Last matchday sees Caen join Guingamp in relegation to Ligue 2. Dijon plays Lens in the relegation playoff. Monaco survive.

PSG, Lille & Lyon enter the Champions League. Saint Ettiene enter the Europa League as do Rennes & Strasbourg via winning Coupe de France & Coupe de la Ligue (thought France had ditched the league cup pathway like everyone else has).

Ups and downs for the top 3 tiers in France:

Relegated from Ligue 1 to Ligue 2: Caen and Guingamp

Promoted from Ligue 2 to Ligue 1: Metz and Brest

Relegated from Ligue 2 to National 1: Beziers and Red Star

Promoted from National 1 to Ligue 2: Rodez-Aveyron and Chambly

Relegated from National 1 to National 2: Tours, Marignane-Gignac, L'Entente Sannois-St. Gratien and Jeanne d'Arc de Drancy

Promoted to National 1 from National 2: Toulon, Le Puy, Bastia-Borgo* and Creteil

*Bastia-Borgo finished second in their group but the champions, Nantes' reserves are ineligible for promotion beyond the fourth tier,

Lens play Dijon and Gazelec Ajaccio play Le Mans in the two playoffs for the final places in the second and third tiers.

SC Bastia who garnered some infamy for some racist behaviour as well as rioting amid their last season in Ligue 1 before demotion due to financial reasons have been promoted to the fourth tier at the second time of asking.

French football financial watchdog the DNCG announces the relegations of AS Nancy and Sochaux from Ligue 2 to National owing to financial irregularities.

Looks like Sochaux are trying to sort out their situation by selling one of their promising youngsters to Inter Milan.

Five years ago, Tanguy Ndombélé was released from Guingamp academy. He had no club and felt that football was over for him. Four years ago, he was playing in France’s 5th division with Amiens then in the 2nd division a year later. Today he has signed for Tottenham.

Has did well for himself
