Hank Scorpio
A few festivals have started punting tickets for the summer already. Anyone got any plans for anything more extravagant than T in the Park? I've been to Creamfields, Tomorrowland, Glastonbury and T in the Park over the past couple of years so me and three mates are planning to head over to Defqon 1 in Holland. Prices are ridiculously cheap, you get a four man hut with bedding and electricity for the same price as a standard T in the Park ticket. I've never done a festival in anything other than tent, but with that style of music I imagine we'll be needing to get at least a little bit of shut eye to be fit for the following day, and for such a cheap price we'd be daft not to. Fire away.
Ira Gaines
Download Festival this year for me, and potentially Festival No. 6. I'll be keeping an eye on the latter and make my decision around June on that. Festival No. 6 is a tremendous venue with Portmeirion and usually a brilliant lineup of great music, comedy and in conversation stuff. Only been once but really need to get back. Christophe
EOTR in September as per, may squeeze a uk summer one in somewhere as holidaying early so gappage available. Arctangent or 20,000 Trees look like front runners atm but open to suggestions.
Ex Machina
Going to Rock Am Ring in Germany for the second year running as once again it has my favourite line-up. Also going to 2000 Trees and Slam Dunk in Leeds. I may consider Leeds Festival dependent on the next few announcements, I'm not impressed with it so far. Savage Henry
Passing on Outside Lands this year, and going to South By Southwest. Iggy Pop and Loretta Lynn. Probably not together, but I wouldn't be at all surprised.
NotThePars
Looking at Sonar and potentially Lovebox and/ or Field Day in London. Usually go to Riverside every year but the lineup's uninspired this year so will probably sack it.
vikingTON
I want to go to Bilbao BBK very, very, very much given that Arcade Fire have been announced as headliners. Will see if the line-up at Wickerman or a similar local festival is interesting as well.
Mr Sugden
Wickerman is cancelled this year.
Ira Gaines
Was just about to say that. Belladrum already looking not bad.
young_bairn
I have a glastonbury ticket so will wait and see who is announced. Like the look of the nos alive festival in Lisbon. Amazing line up.
Christophe
New consideration is Raw Power at the end of May in London
Ira Gaines
Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, Bastille and Hot Chip headlining Festival No 6. Not bad. Echo and the Bunnymen and Roots Manuva on there too. Big chunk of biggish acts to come as always.
NotThePars
Sunfall festival in London is tempting especially since they're offering an afterparty ticket as part of the ticket.
Christophe
World's most massivest surprise EVER!!! The Fall added to Stewart Lee's ATP!!! Whoever saw that one coming?
Savage Henry
SxSW in two weeks. Can't wait. Though didn't realise that stages/parties go from 12 noon till 2 am. I'm going to be a wreck by the end of the week.
Ira Gaines
V festival looking a bit shit. Actually like the look of the top two of Sia and Justin Bieber on one of the days, but on the whole the lineup is kinda gash. Justin Bieber, Sia, Rihanna, David Guetta Faithless, Kaiser Chiefs, Bastille, Little Mix, Jess Glynne, Jake Bugg, Years and Years, Rita Ora, Halsey, Tinie Tempah, Example, Craig David's TS5, Katy B, Travis, DJ Ez, Sigma ( DJ Set ), James Morrison, John Newman, Troye Sivan, All Saints, Fleur East, Big Sean, Soul II Soul, Flight Facilities, Foxes, Lethal Bizzle, DNCE
Bert Raccoon
V started well in the 90s but as it's went on it's became a shite pop festival attended by the cast of Hollyoaks . I'd rather witness my family dying in a fire than have to attend that festival.
Ira Gaines
Weren't Pulp a big part in the festival being created?
Bert Raccoon
Weren't Pulp a big part in the festival being created? Spot on. Was supposed to be just two big outdoor Pulp gigs but then grew from there into a two day festival. The line ups for the first few years were excellent but then again most festival line ups were at that time.
Savage Henry
Erykah Badu and Wolfmother both added to the lineup at SxSW. Consider me delighted with that.
