Whitburn Vale
Aye 11-0 but that was 23 years ago... Aye when I still had hair mantis lol!!!
HibeeJibee
They got spanked 7-2 at Cove - or to be accurate at wherever Cove pitched camp that particular week - this season, so might be thinking of that. They also lost 4-1 to Threave in the South Challenge Cup. However, they've also beaten Dalbeattie 1-0 in the Southern Counties Cup, and an Annan Athletic XI 5-2 earlier in the competition. Incidentally, they lost at home to Edusport this evening... this leaves them only 2pts ahead of Edusport, but with 2 games in hand and 7 games to play. lionel hutz
No, it was more recent than 23 years ago, I remember watching the goals on Sky Sports. After trawling through the archives I found it:It was 2010-11, Stranraer 9-0 Saints in Scottish Cup 2nd Round (not the 1st Round cricket score that I thought it was)

That is s big result from the SOS tonight HJ,Saints still in the driving seat but it's gonna be a bit tougher for them now.
edinabear
Still think it would be a real game changer if Linlithgow Rose made the move across.
Whitburn Vale
Still think it would be a real game changer if Linlithgow Rose made the move across. It would be but they will not,it's time to move on from all this senior v junior debate. They're top sides and licensed sides get to play in the big Scottish now but thats as far as they're going for now. Most of the non league seniors have the chance to play in the Big Scottish and all if licensed have the opportunity if good enough to move up to SPFL 2.Since this thread is about Relegation,One thing that needs to happen is scrapping the pointless play-off between bottom of league 2 and the winner of the SHFL v SLFL play-off,if you finish bottom your down.Whoever wins the first playoff should be automatically promoted!! edinabear
So regardless of who wins between Edinburgh City and East Stirling there will now be a 16th place available in the Lowland League. Anyone heard anything regarding potential applicants?

edinabear
Ive said before but what exactly would edusport bring to the LL. No home, no support whatsoever, filled full of foreign players

Cyclizine
I would imagine Edusport will have applied. I'm fairly sure they're not licenced.
HibeeJibee
They tweeted a couple of weeks ago they'd obtained a "UEFA Club License having successfully met entry level criteria" That almost certainly means an SFA entry licence.
Burnie_man
Which south clubs are fully licenced but are outwith the LL? Burntisland Shipyard Civil Service Strollers Coldstream Edusport Academy Glasgow University Hawick Royal Albert Wigtown & Bladnoch Threave Rovers (relegated) Linlithgow Rose (Junior) That it? if we assume that Threave wont re-apply, and Linlithgow wont either, it's a fairly grim list. LongTimeLurker
Think I read on here that clubs had to be licensed by the time the applications for the vacancy went in, so Edusport may have been too late for the vacancy?
surely not!
Which south clubs are fully licenced but are outwith the LL? Grim under what criteria? These are teams who've spent money ensuring they are prepared off the field rather than putting their money to different uses ( often paying stupid money for players that don't justify the cash). They are now in a position to challenge properly ON the park, indeed strollers are third in the EoS.

Strollers were refused at last minute last time so I would assume if they apply they would get in for the free spot as they will never win the league with Leith and Hutchy blocking the way as neither have made any effort to get licensed
lionel hutz
Would be good to see Strollers get accepted after they were booted out at the 11th hour last season.
LongTimeLurker
Grim under what criteria? These are teams who've spent money... A lot of it being the SFA's money rather than their own through grants that were only available to existing full members. Let's get real on this if sporting merit were factored and licensing were de-emphasized the list ideally would be something along the lines of: Auchinleck Talbot Pollok Irvine Meadow Petershill Clydebank Linlithgow Rose Bo'ness United Bonnyrigg Rose Lothian Thistle Kelty but won't be for reasons there is no need to argue over again. HibeeJibee
If "grim" means in quality terms, it's rather unfair to lump Civil Service Strollers in with some of the others. They're currently 3rd in EOSL after Leith + LTHV. They've beaten LL clubs 6 times in 2 seasons... Dalbeattie, Whitehill; Selkirk (x2), Whitehill, Vale. Also beaten St Cuthbert and Newton Stewart in Scottish Cup, and reached the South Challenge Cup Final last season and the EOS Qualifying Cup SFs this season. parsforlife
Sporting achievement is taken into consideration on applications. And no way should licencing be de - emphasised, the standards required are pretty lenient as it stands!
