Antlion
Absolutely correct, it was always fascinating during the referendum to watch Labour activists proclaim their loathing of borders, our similarity to workers in Manchester and Liverpool and exult their socialist spirit of internationalism..... which curiously always stops at the white cliffs of Dover. The same people who undoubtedly cheered Blair's "Britain is the best country on earth" speech, and who continually championed the things Labour had achieved as a British national party. You can't blame him for that; he thinks independence is a bad thing. Why would he aspire to it in his thinking?
Glenconner
So if ABBUP is up and running, does that mean the failed unionist tactical voting campaign is over. I'm already hearing it's the same people. Once you strip out the saner elements of the No campaign your starting to hit off the wall rightwing Rangersy types. A bit like nuRangers, actually.

Antlion
The don't want Holyrood having *any* powers that could potentially "put Scotland out of step with the rest of the UK". What a cringing bunch of uncle tams.
Antlion
What staggers me is that these people continue to love Westminster rule (and want governments Scotland didn't elect to administer its domestic affairs whilst its own elected representatives speak from the sidelines) even after the Westminster government threw them under a bus by professing the integrity of Holyrood and its commitment to strengthening it (however weakly). Sad times for hardcore BritNats, when even their beloved UK government doesn't care about their support, and treats them them as nonentities. Glenconner
Anybody else see kevthedee on the Daily Politics? Poor man has the mug of a funeral director. Thought the chap was going to a Ludge meeting straight after talking to the BBC. Something of the night about that character.

Glenconner
Is the ABBUP a rebrand of the Scottish Unionist Party or will they be running against each other? Never knew what happened to SUP. Just died a natural death i suppose. The one major success story for the far right in Scotland is/was Ukip. Ukip v ABBUP, both fighting for the same vote. ABBUP's problem is that no matter what it tries to say, it comes across as Ludge types that got their jollies off at the referendum. Plus very shortly ABBUP will need to come out into the open. Any hint that their ex BNP/NF/EDL/loyalists will finish them off at birth.
Glenconner
The face of British Unionism... Strange looking dude. And his politics were all over the place even from what they've written on their website. Obviously looked at Ukip in the Euro elections and think we can have a bit of that. Slight problem, Ukip were on BBC everyday for a year before the Euros and a year after until the May 2015 elections. I thought Ukip and the BBC were joined at the hip. ABBUP will get none of that other than social media. And a lot of far types got their fingers burned with the BNP membership being plastered online. I take it, it's the same people that did the tactical voting gig at the general election. Wonder how that turned out? Pity about the party's name. Sounds like a Britain First tribute act or a poor man's Ukip. I'll give to next year's council elections and then it's curtains. By then Rangers should be back in the SPL and the novelty will have worn off.
Glenconner
How were the SUP "far right"? Where would you put them on the political spectrum? Personally ah blame the schools.
LongTimeLurker
Never knew what happened to SUP. Just died a natural death i suppose. Did some googling and the SUP website still appears to be active. The SUP would be the genuine Rangers/Orange Order brand of Unionism, which is why there appeared to be a mainstream media blackout about them despite occasional moderately good results in fringe party terms. This ABBUP seem to be being given access to TV studios, which suggests they may have more in common with the Scottish Voice party that failed to make any headway in the 2007 election.
