Cowden V Ayr

Recommended Posts

Yep, baffled as to why Ayr fans keep thinking they have a good defence, not a centre half among them capable of playing at a higher level.

They had Donald at left back tonight and had to take off Graham in second half replaced by under 20 player

Ayr gambled a bit by getting some quality players and as a result lack squad depth. With the full team out they are a match for anyone in this league.

Still got 90K to spend remember.

Massive pressure on them now though.

Bit embarrassing the townies trying to invent a title race.

The only full time team with a far far bigger support and probably as many season ticket holders as the rest of the league put together.

Still you massively overspend to try and buy your way out of the part time league. Basically just Rangers wannabes.

Ayrs defence is just as p1sh as the the other part time teams defences and if you don't win this league by a mile then there's something wrong.

When you do, remember to gloat and celebrate wildly, after all it will be a monumental achievement.

We defended terribly tonight and when you defend like that you can't expect to win games. Cowdenbeath pressed us well and were quick with the ball and were well worth their victory.

All 6 goals scored tonight could have been prevented.

Disappointed but I did fear a draw was the best we could get. With 5 players missing a draw would've been a good result.

News Years game is now a big one, been a tough run for us. We are not a bad side because of a few defeats but we do need to show a bit of steel and character to get a run together again.

Went to this one, Ayr were absolutely terrible, McCall was fizzing at Forrest for most of the first half for going narrow. Cowden played well but there defence is poor, the goalie looks really shakey as does the left back and bald centre back is a carthorse. Nothing for us to fear on Saturday, should be a comfortable win.

Keeper, 18 year old Sneddon is a big prospect but injured. Left back Kenny Adamson had a good game tonight. Big Pat at CB struggled at times but always gives his all.

Even when your team win you still come over as a bitter c**t. You were right about our huge support though ;)

Quite poor tonight - a shambles at the back. Really need to get our injured players back soon. This small squad beimg stretched just now.

However ot is important to remember that we are still second in the league and considering the situation we were in last season we are vastly improved.

Caldwell had a decent game tonight and I also feel Crawford did well. He didnt give up the whole game and gave everything. Only one of the midfielders that did any running.

Onwards and upwards to stranraer on saturday. Get the defence sorted and we should be fine

Thought that was a really good game tonight. Great attacking football from both teams. Spence and Smith dominated the Ayr defence where our defence mostly coped with Ayr's forwards. Both keepers made great saves but Ayr's was especially good.

A few times Ayr players took one for the team when we were breaking. Been a while since we attacked at pace like that and caused panic. long may it continue
