Ranaldo Bairn
That, and the lack of a proper centre forward, has been the reason the goals are drying up. Mmm, you kind of did say you don't have a centre forward, Punners.
thepundit
Mmm, you kind of did say you don't have a centre forward, Punners. Apologies for any confusion. My point was Miller and Clark just haven't been good enough this season. I believe the coaching team are of the same opinion as they've had a centre forward at the club on trial and have been linked with a number of other players. Not if you listen to Warburton's explanations for signings players. He'll probably see Miller as someone can add value to the team off the pitch whilst also being a capable squad player. Kenny Miller wouldn't get on the bench for us yet he's signed a new contract at rangers and is starting games despite the millions available now king is in power. Surely that's a little worrying? Not at all. But I'm sure in January that Rangers will add at least one more centre forward to the squad and Miller will only make appearances from the bench. Myview
Firstly Rangers and neutral fans must recognise that compared to recent previous seasons Warburton with a lower budget has brought in better quality players, playing a better passing game of football and has Rangers top of the Championship. However any Rangers fan with an average amount of football knowledge has seen these recent performances coming weeks ago. I recognise Rangers don't have a big squad however Rangers are now extremely predicable. This is where Warburton is starting to disappoint me. As many fans have posted far too many passes and not enough creative chances being made and as a result for the amount of possession too few shots on target. I know what pundit is saying we need a dominant striker with a presence. One who does his work in the box more than outside it. I appreciate it is difficult to get behind teams when they sit deep and also with ten behind the ball. However Rangers are making it very easy for them tactically as from day one they have continued to play in the same manner. Change the formation and one or two players. Give Hardie a chance. Are Rangers missing Law more than most would have thought? Brilliant after the Hibs defeat having an open forum with boss and players. I've now heard this about another three times since. Surely most would have said reduce the number of passes and be more direct? Recently quotes in the newspapers from players "we will not give up our passing game". Fans are not asking just reduce the number of passes! If not be it at your peril. I said months ago Hibs are not going away and I repeat with their limited resource.. well done Falkirk. Do Rangers miss Nicky Law?... Possibly, but I think they're missing someone like Tom Walsh or an in-form David Templeton, but the main priority has to be a centre forward. I just hope it's 'sorted' before Rangers suffer more points lost especially when the next two matches are against Falkirk and Hibs. It may be that Warburton initially thought that it was just a blip so after such a good start he continued to keep the same however that appears not to be the case and although it may come good again imo it's a dangerous gamble. bennett
Our problem is that while we've got good players for this level we lack that wee bit of extra quality to break down stubborn defences, could Templeton be that player or will we sign/loan someone? Bringing in someone just for the same of bringing in someone would be a mistake, they would have to be better than what we have.
Gaz FFC
Well it looks like an 8000 sellout on Saturday. I assume Rangers sold their 3700? We don't have many left and imagine will be sold out Friday evening. All the makings of a good game this
