Regardless of what format we all think is best, can we please get calling the division below the top flight the "Championship" into the sea.

Scotland is a Population of 5,424,800 according to 2017 Estimates. And so because of this needs to come with radical and different ideas, Not only to generate competition but interests weather traditionalists like it or not.

Scotland has a nation could inplemt to Structures like below.

Scottish Premier League of 16 teams. and Adopt the Belgian Play offs. Which would improve the competitiveness of Scottish teams and Nation al Team. Has done well for Belgium.

Scottish Championship keep the ten teams or extended by two to make it twelve teams.

Underneath this Regional Leagues. AKA North, South and West maybe East

Alternatively

Two leagues of 14 and Regional Leagues below. Plus maybe an Celtic Cup involving Welsh, N, irish and Southern irish teams including the Scottish premier league teams

Don't the Belgian national team players almost all play in foreign leagues?

The effect of the league reconstruction there on the national team is negligible. It was a part of a wide package of reforms, it's widely accepted that a far improved youth structure & better management structures in the domestic game had lots more influence on the improvement of Belgium in both the national team & league (which is much higher on the UEFA coefficient ranking than 10 years ago).

The bizarre obsession with packing the diddies off into regional leagues continues.

Scotland keep up the 12 club team structure. But alter it slightly in the sense the top six compete for The championship and Champions league place in a Knock out style tournament. 7-10 compete for a UEFA Europa League place. and the Scottish cup and League for the remaining two spots

The Scottish Championship could be extended to 12 teams with  Regional League underneath to save travelling and giving Scottish league one and twp are mostly semi-pro or Armature sides this would benefit them.

Interesting to note of course that rugby league is moving away from the 12+12 into 8-8-8 model and going back to a traditional promotion and relegation model.

This idea stinks. Dangling the carrot in front of ambitious Lowland/Highland league sides by offering a greater chance of promotion from a new league. The real reason they want to do this is to shoe horn the Old Firm colts in - something which has already been blatantly obvious for years. That’s why it is a very bad thing that 123 Ross county fans travelled to see their side play Under 20s Motherwell in the Challenge Cup. There were over 1000 at that game - there shouldn’t have been over 100.

I’ve got a better idea - get your colts to absolute f**k and make it a straight relegation from League 2 instead of making teams have to play loads of play offs to get promoted. This colt thing will not die as long as people keep going to watch any game involving the colts.
