Bold Rover Posted December 5, 2015 Share Posted December 5, 2015 My late father in law made wonderful coleslaw. He left the carrots, cabbage and onions cut roughly and made a vinegary, peppery sauce. It's wonderful with fish and chips. Luckily, Mrs Bold learned his recipe and it occasionally appears. I understand the loathing for the tubs of creamy, sweet, supermarket coleslaw, though. American potato salad is shite - due to it being 'flavoured' with mayonaisse, probably the world's most hateful substance. Proper potato salad in a pickled marinade is excellent - see the schnitzel and grease-cleansing potato salad combination throughout central Europe.
