Alex Salmond.

Doesn't surprise me tbh. Majority want independence now, majority will vote SNP as a mechanism to independence. Independence is bigger than the SNP and sooner the mainstream media actually report this truth the better.

Nothing about this saga has resonated with the public, not even the trial itself.

Most of us are bored rigid with it along with the Sturgeon haters on social media with their outlandish conspiracy theories.

Lol. Tinfoil hatter 101.

Why don't you tell us WHY (in your opinion) Salmond was "stitched up"? He was absolutely zero political threat to the SNP and was fast becoming irrelevant.

Who knows, there's a lot of people would like to know the answer to that.  What we do know is he definitely was, its up to NS and her acolytes to explain why.

They started immediately, he was airbrushed out of the history of the SNP as soon as NS took office, despite being easily the most important, famous and influential person in the party's history. It was disgusting.

Salmond has effectively become the bumbling embodiment of the Yes da'. This complete and utter non-story in every practical way has become a wishful-thinking placebo for unionists that keeps their mind off the real reasons they're losing ground and I'm absolutely fine with that.

Salmond is giving the anti-SNP media (virtually all of the MSM) all the ammunition they need to keep pecking away at Sturgeon.

I hope the fat fùck trips over his inflated ego and snaps his neck.

Whats he saying now?

God knows. There's a piece on the BBC Scotland politics page today by Nick Eardley with the dramatic headline "Could Alex Salmond bring down Nicola Sturgeon?". It's heavy on "could", "would", "might" and "maybe" as well as "sources say" but is woefully short on anything that wasn't already known. Basically Salmond isn't happy and thinks Sturgeon broke the ministerial code. Sturgeon doesn't think that at all.

So, exactly the same position as 3 or 6 months ago. But they need something to keep the pot boiling. Lot of shite.

Yes, I saw that last night and was immediately suspicious of the content, the random timing and the motives.

You'd think Eardley could fill his day showing up what a monumental c**t Johnson is. If he's so short of work that he needs to do this sort of puff filler then he's not looking hard enough in the right places.

Salmond is briefing to all and sundry and has been for some time. Even to people like the Daily Mail, which is a real shame to see but no one could ever quite get down in the gutter like Salmond could.

The independence movement wouldn’t be where it is today without him but he seems hell bent on destroying whatever was left of his legacy.

What's his problem, just retire m8. You've done your bit, don't ruin it

His problem is Sturgeon, Murrell and their lackeys tried to frame him for attempted rape.

Craig Murray has published a letter from the Crown that there are communications where senior SNP officials say that if the police tell them what kind of evidence is required to prosecute Salmond then they will obtain it.
