Nicola Sturgeon challenges Alex Salmond over 'conspiracy' claims https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-scotland-politics-56155102

Was told today that the hearing is going to be live on air for the public to listen to? Sounds like nonsense to me.

Nicola's going to come through this completely unscathed.

That married man, of whom his defence team admitted during his trial, behaved inappropriately, will probably come out of this with about as much credibility as Tony Blair did, after his war with Iraq.

That isn't going to happen.  Nobody can have as little credibility as Tony Blair over Iraq.

The civil service and the crown office have come out of this looking decidedly dodgy and unaccountable.

One manages to botch probably the most important harassment case in modern Scottish history and the other brought a case with a litany of flimsy material.

The legacy of this is women will not feel confident complaining or feel in power of their complaints.  It's a stain on Scotland however this pans out now.

I’m not sure women will be confident either that their anonymity will be respected given there’s people doing their bit to nudge and wink people’s identity out into the open and others who think a not guilty verdict should be open season to go hog wild on the people making the complaints

I agree with you, especially regarding the civil service and crown office.

Both far too close and under the influence of the SNP government.

Seems odd that the Lord Advocate is in the cabinet?

Both the AS and the Rangers affairs are shocking and the police also look decidedly dodgy.

Part of the problem is that the SNP have been in power far too long, just like Labour before them to the extent that Scotland resembles a one party state. The nationalist academic, James Mitchell Is correct when he says that the SNP needs a spell in opposition to regroup and settle policy differences.

This current affair is going to end badly and I can see the emergence of a new nationalist party.

Obviously, from a unionist point of view, some wishful thinking, but Scottish politics definitely needs a root and branch shakeup.

The best (only) way to get rid of the SNP is to have an independent Scotland.
