kendoddsdugsdeed
we are struggling to get our first win in league but we beat both ormiston and duns away from home to get to the final. we cannot be that garbage.

Derek1234
Good luck to Eyemouth but I really fear the worst. This could be a pretty pointless final in terms of a contest.
surely not!
Good luck to Eyemouth but I really fear the worst. This could be a pretty pointless final in terms of a contest. The better teams available (and there aren't many as its a bit of a Diddy cup) should have Meade sure they got there then.

Sorry but those 2 teams are rooted at the bottom of the league as well Good luck to Eyemouth but I really fear the worst. This could be a pretty pointless final in terms of a contest. Sadly for a Cup final this will be a trouncing 6- 0 at least not sure what the point of this cup is but Leith like winning it

Ormiston sat on 12 points. Unbeaten in 5. 3 Points behind 6th place Coldstream with 2 games in hand. Get a grip. It's a cup final, anything can happen. Although yeah, Leith are favourites and they know how to win this cup....

HibeeJibee
It was a funny sort of competition this season... Only 7 entrants in the end and of those all the ex-Premier ended up in one half of the draw, from which emerged 3-times holders Leith Athletic; and all the ex-First Division ended up in the other half of the draw, from which emerged Eyemouth. Could hardly be a bigger contrast in form and positioning either. Leith are 9pts clear atop the table; Eyemouth are bottom of the table without a point to their name. Leith come into the final off a 7-0 win; Eyemouth come into it off an 8-0 defeat. When they met earlier this season Leith thumped them 5-0. Leith have only lost 3 games all season (and those were against 2 LL opponents and Spartans EOS); Eyemouth have only won 2 games all season, in this cup in both cases. However, it's a cup final and anything can happen. Leith have only been out of the Lothians and central belt once since August, and have played most of their games on 3G. Who knows what might happen if it's a damp, squally day at Home Park, for example.
tynie1874
Grass was long last time I played down there for Coldstream not sure what its like now however and if that would have any bearing on the way the beautiful game is played.

HibeeJibee
Surprised to see there is no mention of the final whatsoever in today's local paper? It's over 25 years since a Berwickshire club last won something and 5 years since one made a final - even if Eyemouth's chances are rated low, disappointing no preview of any kind made it. newcastle broon
I think it should be noted that the family of the late Alex Jack put up this trophy in his memory and originally it was set up for clubs that couldn't get in Scottish (obviously times have changed hence only 7 clubs) maybe the eos could reconsider the criteria for entering the cup itself. it's great to see a cup final taking place in Coldstream where they've spent a fair bit of work on their whole set up. I'm sure if Leith win it (again) it'll be a great journey home or likewise Eyemouth starved of success over the years will certainly make a wee bit noise in the town should they be successful. Very best of luck to both clubs.
leithathletic
Game postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. Surely Netherdale or Ainslie Park should have been the venue given the time of year?
HibeeJibee
Disappointing, but out of nowhere the wind's blowing like a hurricane across the eastern Borders now, so maybe just as well.

HibeeJibee
Ironically, after a brief blizzard, it is now a braw day with bright sunshine, blue sky and a gentle breeze. Would have made for fairly genteel conditions.
