Really torn about which I want to be true.

On the one hand, he'd be a great choice for Scotland manager.

On the other, dipping his wick in a player's missus and then getting fired would be the best Scottish football entertainment since Rangers died.

It's like Sophie's Choice, man.

Then neither will happen and we'll all be disappointed.

From the Evening Express website

BETTING firm Ladbrokes has suspended betting on Aberdeen’s Derek McInnes being the next Scottish Premiership manager to quit after a flurry of bets.

The bookie has now put McInnes as 4/1 favourite to become the next permanent Scotland manager, ahead of Paul Lambert (6/1), David Moyes (6/1), Joe Jordan (7/1) and Stuart McCall (8/1).

Current national team manager Gordon Strachan’s future is unclear, with his contract with the SFA set expire.

However this afternoon Pittodrie played down the possibility of McInnes departing any time soon.

A spokeswoman said: “We have no idea where that story has come from, but it is business as usual at the club.

“Derek is busy preparing the team for Friday’s trip to Ross County.”

Good point made on Twitter - is this just Ladbrokes trying to create interest in the market for betting on the Scotland manager post? McInnes was hardly a realistic candidate but by drawing some attention to it some folk might be willing to part with their cash on other, more realistic options.
