Got a stag do in barcelona in twa weeks. I have been tasked with sorting the location at night. Think we are just going to kick about some bars and drink and eat some tapas but more for any decent clubs? They basically want somewhere which is not ridiculously touristy and has decent senoritas who they can get knocked back from?

Thoughts welcome.

There's a load of clubs down next to the big casino, fairly upmarket 20 euro entry, 6 euro a drink type places but they're cracking inside and full of locals. Pacha won't let you in wearing shorts, but there's a couple of other places next to it that will. I can't mind the name of where I went cause I was bevvied but it was next door to Pacha.

ETA: I want to say it was called Opium. There's loads of options down that way anyway and I reckon they're all fairly similar.

The clubs by the casino (Pacha, Shoko, Opium, etc.) are decent enough, but at certain times of the year they'll be almost completely full of groups just like yours. I'd probably still recommend going to one of these, but if you want something a bit different there are also some good options in Gracia and elsewhere in the city.

We usually go to Barcelona just after New Year but not this year. However just booked a three day break early December; flights from Edinburgh with good flight times and a good central hotel B&B for a total of £375.

How was the Stag Do?

Anything we should be looking at getting involved in or avoiding?

Absolutely tremendous. Great city. Both nights we ended up down near the big casino (as mentioned above). Friday night pacha and another one on the saturday. Friday we went out on a catamaran which was shite. Saturday we just kicked around a few pubs. Funnilly enough spent most of the saturday in an irish bar (i know) but it lots of big screen so got all the sports and drink was pretty cheap. Ate tapas all weekend. Great city and you will enioy

Keep your wallet and phone in your front pockets and try avoid ending up on your own if you happen to end up walking up Las Ramblas after dark.

I was completely fine. I guess down the main bit around pacha there are a few dodgy people. But just dont be alone when pished and you will be fine

Aye, the only dodgy bit in my experience is down the bottom near the docks and the railway station. Loads of really cheap pensions and bars on the the little streets off it near Placa de Catalunya.

Placa Catalunya is nowhere near the docks or the railway station.

My point exactly, I was talking about the other end of the Ramblas where you don't get any bother.

Fair enough, I appreciate English isn't your first language.

ETA I'd be wary of bits of the Raval (South/ West of the Ramblas) we stay in a hotel in Diagonal and I wouldn't cut through there in the evenings!
