I wish andy wud play a couple of smaller clay court tournies, he is totally unprepared for the 3 clay masters.. I agree with above.. He wont make no.1 if he doesnt start really competing on clay and go deep in these tournies. Possibly a win in one of the wee tournies would give him confidence

I really don't believe he likes the surface. So I don't think he will ever do what Rafa did this year and compete in the South American swing to prepare for the clay court season. He seems to aggravate his body playing on the surface more than he does on hard or grass, so I think he sees it as another reason not to perform.

As for the match on Monday a continuing sign of Federer's decline, you certainly can't go that far. Nadal was superb, and Federer has always struggled against Nadal on clay. The head to head stats back that up with Nadal leading 13-2 on clay. Federer has been carrying an injury this season and once on the hard and grass surfaces you will see him back to being competitive. Also making the final was Federer's best result of the season thus far.

Juan Martin Del Potro has joined Andy Murray by pulling out of the French Open.

Can Murray lose his number 2 ranking from this tournament?

Murray will lose 360 points... But fed is defending a semi spot from last yr.. Cant really see him making final. Think he may actually need to win to go above oor andy.. Nadal cant make any points up here as he is defending champion and a ferrer win wud not be enough... With andy playing queens and defending little, early exit last yr.. Reckon its a safe bet he will be no 2 seed for wimbledon

Murray will resume his match against Mahut tomorrow after the Tsonga - Roger-Vasselin match.

After the Murray match it`s Evans against Del Porto.

Matosevic is waiting to play the winner hopefully Murray and that match will be last on centre court.

Well done to Murray for winning both his matches today but for Evans he lost to Del Porto.

Here is the order of play for the Quarter Final matches tomorrow

Cilic V Berdych

Hewitt V Del Porto

Murray V Becker

Tsonga V Kudla

I am not overly confident of Del Potro winning. Hewitt is an old dog that is difficult to be put away and if Del Potro is not having a good day he could be in trouble. His win against Dan Evans was very straight forward, Evans pretty much handed Del Potro the win without having to do much. Cilic is defending champion and if his serve is firing he could beat anyone on grass. Berdych is a very accomplished grass court player as well, his power on the faster service makes him dangerous.

If I was to bet I would take Hewitt and Cilic to win a set. I can't see much problems for Tsonga or Murray, and hopefully they both get through. Murray Tsonga matches are great fun especially on grass. The Final at Queens two years ago was superb. Both Tsonga and Murray will pulling off trick shots to entertain the crowd.

Murray looked quite sharp today and will be glad to see no tweaks, and his back seems to be 100% again. I am looking forward to the Wimbledon draw.

Hewitt should trouble Del Potro. He's still a really good grass court player. Only Tsonga, Federer, Djokovic, Roddick, Soderling and Baghdatis have beaten him at Wimbledon since 2003. I'd definitely have him seeded if I were asked to pick the Wimbledon seedings regardless of ranking. Probably in the top 20's actually

edit: I might do those seedings actually, just for fun.

Haha Berdych and Del Porto were papped out. However my prediction of Cilic and Hewitt taking a set was a good one.

Murray went through in straight sets but wasn't very impressive in the second set. But he did exactly what he had to do, so you can't fault that. Hopefully Tsonga makes it through.

As for seperate seedings I think it would be unfair on tennis players that have worked hard all year to lose their ranking to someone like Hewitt who wildcards into events he fancies playing. If you did that where would you rank Andy Murray for the French? Top 20? I could easily name ten better players than him on clay. I don't think he deserves to be seeded less than four for the French. The only thing I would maybe allow, is the top four to be juggled, 5-8 be juggled, 9-16 be juggled and 17-32 to be juggled on form on that surface.

I wasn't in any way suggesting it, just emphasizing how good I think Hewitt is on grass.

Although I think your being extremely harsh on Murray, he is definitely one of the 10 best players on clay. Are there 10 players that can better 1 semi and 2 quarters at Roland Garros as well as 3 semis and 4 quarters at masters level? Extremely doubtful. People underplay his ability on clay. The only reason he doesn't have any titles on it is because he only plays 4 tournaments a year. He'd have a decent number if he played all the events Almagro and his likes play year round.

Only got to see the 2nd set of the Murray match and he was not playing great but it was good to still see him win it in straight sets.

The Hewitt V Cilic match is on first tomorrow and I would like to see Hewitt win.

Murray V Tsonga is next up and Murray will need to play better to beat Tsonga but I can see Murray winning it.

Hewitt V Murray is the final I want.

He is helped dramatically by his seeding. But he deserves that as he has worked hard all year round to get that seeding. Personally if Murray was to face Federer, Djokovic, Nadal, Ferrer, Berdych,,Tsonga, Del Potro, Wawrinka, Almagro and Monaco on clay he would lose more than he would win on clay. I would happily say those ten are better than Murray on clay. When Murray made the semi finals at the French he had a very favourable draw.

But Murray quite rightly deserves his number two seeding.

I do agree Hewitt is still good on grass. But it is not only the surface but he seems to not give up as easy on hard services. He is a confidence player and he feels more comfortable on grass, hence has better results. I think the Hewitt match tomorrow is to close to call. I think it will go to three sets. I can see Murray winning in straight sets tomorrow, but I expect one of the sets to be very tight 7-5 or 7-6. So over 21.5 games would be a good bet.

Federer, Djokovic and Nadal are a given. I'd agree about the next 5 but obviously to a much lesser extent.

I definitely disagree about Almagro and Monaco. Especially Monaco, who is the most overrated clay specialist out there. For all the tournaments and matches they play, do they ever beat any of the top players? As far as I can see, Almagro hasn't beaten a seeded player at Rome, Monte Carlo or Madrid since 2010.
