He's getting reamed. This is typical Murray when things arenae going well. Spitting the dummy and losing concentration. I reckon it's this kind of attitude that could be the difference between him being a good player and a regular Grand Slam winner.

That said, Djokovic IS playing fantastic tennis.

Murray back in action today in the US Open.

Wonder how he will perform after an indifferent comeback from his wrist injury?

He has a nasty draw however. 1 more match, the 14th seed, then it is Davydenko, Roddick, Federer. 3rd Round will be a great result this time round, anything else is a bonus.

This is probably the best place to say it - I'm delighted for Tim Henman after his 1st round win against Tursunov. The guy didn't deserve to crash out in the first round of his final major.

Agree 100% - never been a Henman fan, but I really want him to do well in his last two events. Quite fitting that he's finally managed to beat Tursunov in a Grand Slam event.........now watch him lose in round 2!

Edit - Andy Murray faces Jonas Bjorkman first on the Grandstand Court today, with play due to start at 3pm UK time.

Murray won today in 5 sets.

He was due to face the 14th seed, but he went and lost, so he is now playing an unseeded guy. Be brilliant if he could get through to the fourth round.

Hmmm, the guy he faces isn't a bad player at all - remember him dominating Henman a few years ago at Queens Club when no-one had heard of him.

On paper, Andy should progress - 4th round would be a very good comeback :)

More Davis Cup whining from Murray.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/tennis/6996154.stm

Yes Andy, you are more than welcome to stop playing Davis Cup. You are also more than welcome to start paying your coach's 7 figure salary. What? You don't want to do that?

Is Gilbert really on £1m a year? :o

Yup. Reputedly.

Though he does have overall control of the whole programme, in theory. It annoys me that Murray wants the benefits of LTA supprt, but seems hesitant to give a little back.

It is utter rubbish to suggest a couple of singles matches twice a year is affecting his health. Total bollocks.

Yes, I would tend to agree.

Although I would also think it's important that he does take rests periodically so as not to burn out. If he's playing Davis Cup then presumably those rests have to come at the expense of playing money and ranking points winning events elsewhere. Never the less, if the LTA are part-funding his coach then the very least they should expect is his support to the Davis Cup team when fit to play.

Yep, he just needs a sensible schedule drawn up. Easily done around the Masters series etc.

Here are the details of Gilbert's deal. It's actually £700K a year. I must have seen a million dollars quoted.
