I would say scotland and the North of England are very similar in political outlook as a whole , me i am slightly to the right but do hold some left stances but would Generally consider myself centre right , have no time in equal amounts for the far right zoomers and far left loonies in equal measure

I'm quite anti-capitalist, verging on socialist/communist views, however I can appreciate some centre right policies in a capitalist system. The major issue I have with right wing politics is that it encourages inequality which I am very much against.

P&B as a group holds no opinions that would not be out of place in a middle class dinner party in Brighton or Islington. They are not left wing like you would have found in a ship yard on Glasgow in the 60s or student union in a former polly Uni in the 90s.

As for Reynard, well I tend to think peoples whos ideas stick out tend to get the chop. Id sign up for him xbl, Swampy and so on getting let back in. You cannot have a politcs forum then get the vapours over strongly held political opinions being expressed repeatedly.

Im a moderate leftie , would agree that the extremes of both sides are the worst

I find most people that are any further than centre-left to be well meaning dickheads.

Yeah I think I'll pay attention to facts as opposed to a blog in the right wing Spectator, thanks.

I need to Buckfast my ideas.

I consider myself on the buckled spectrum. I agree with a lot of what has already been posted (even missing Reynard). I do see Scotland as more left than England & agree that the North of England has more in common with Scotland than the South of England, the problem is that both are ultimately ruled by Westminster. Except those areas where we have freedom of self rule & we do (presently) have greater socially aware practices. Free prescriptions, tuition fees for instance.

I consider myself to be a believer of Marxism & hold those ideas to explain the anarchy of the system we are living under & our skewed values that we are nurtured in from birth.

But hey-ho Capitalism is the best system so far but there are better alternatives available for sure.

Politics (on a UK footing) suddenly seems so polarised. It's either Cameron sticking poor children in a blender to make foi gras or Corbyn that wants to set back the UK to practically the dark ages with his idealism that only a first year sociology student could possibly believe would actually work. For example, anyone tubthumping about nationalisation is obviously not old enough to remember trying to get British Telecom to fix your fucking phone lines.

Obviously this can only work to Scotland's advantage, assuming Nicola handles it the right way. I'm worried that in opposition to austerity she drags the SNP too close to Corbyn and causes the party massive damage by association to a well meaning lunatic.
