Heard Craigroyston mentioned yesterday as a new applicant for the Juniors.

If true and the strollers get in the lowland and maybe others who have Lowland league ambitions then there will be hardly anyone left in the EOS and the league will more or less be dead.

Haddington Athletic appear to be moving in the opposite direction, but might get the last LL place. Is 13 clubs really hardly anyone left? Think there's enough of a core of SFA full members and Uni teams for the EoS to hang in there.

See where your coming from but only recently there was 2 leagues with 10/12 teams in each?? Plus with the strollers, duns, hawick and coldstream having lowland league ambitions then long term the league need to do something to try encourage teams to apply for the EOS?

What teams would have facilities suitable ?

Duns aren't far away, Hawick and Coldstream a imagine won't be too far away either. Kinda thought Civil would have been in the Lowland league beginning of this season. Don't know what the rest are up to only tend to see on this or with the news. Ormiston were doing work on their pitch last time i was up last season but don't know how thats progressing? Could even say Burntisland as well seeing they play in the Scottish.

Whats the point in having new facilities or a new park?

Another Saturday passes by when we have a playable surface but no one to play?

Burntisland advised us early on Thursday to say park was unplayable, we then email league secretary to advise them that our park was playable (we also cc in Duns, Eyemouth and Coldstream secretaries).

League secretary emails us on Friday to say they wouldnt make any team change fixture, but would support us if we managed to get one of the aforementioned teams to play on Saturday?

Unfortunately none of these teams wanted to play, lets be realistic here, none of us will win the league and no one will be relegated.

We had the same scenario with Stirling University on Saturday 11th December, after they advised us on the Thursday that there park was unplayable we offered to reverse the fixture to Ormiston, Stirling declined our offer.

Extremely frustrated and disappointed with the way fixtures cant be resheduled or changed!!!

if the EOS were to fold would the teams go in to an expanded lowland league or down into relevant juniors section.

Could any juniors or amateur teams be willing or persuaded to join the league?

On the first part I think there would need to be some sort of merger with the SoS League, but it's unlikely to happen given there is a solid core of full SFA member clubs (Coldstream, CCS, Hawick, Burntisland and probably soon Duns and Herriot-Watt) and uni/reserve teams (Stirling Uni and Spartans) that are not likely to leave. Throw in Peebles and Eyemouth and you still have ten clubs even in the unlikely scenario of a complete exit of all the other Edinburgh area clubs (Lothian Thistle, Leith, Tynecastle, Craigroyston and Ormiston). Over time the latter part will probably happen to some extent just as clubs like Easthouses and Craigroyston have or might move in the opposite direction.

We could quickly get to the point where the remaining non-licenced clubs who meet Junior requirements coming over to the Juniors, with the rump of licenced clubs either in an expanded Lowland League or carrying on with the 8-10 clubs with reserve teams padding it out.
