We played well first half but go in 3-1 down due to calamities from Henderson and Barclay with the other being offside but still a fine finish from Moore.

Ayr look a decent side though pretty solid with some real threats in the final third they are a stick on for the play offs at the very least. Ross Docherty was a cut above though this guy was very good at Airdrie and looks even better in that Ayr team the kid could go on to really great things.

For us well we were decent first half but never turned up second half and lost another cheap as f**k goal after half time.

Cookie was class for us what a shift. The sooner Summers is back the better though we are hamstrung at left back in the meantime.

Best Ayr have played in 3 season but still room for improvement. Bit disappointed in Caldwells reaction after scoring and at the end. Can understand why he's bit miffed at being benched but needs to get on with. Good finishes for the goals and good to see Preston back firing them in. Big Gerry looked done in after 80 minutes. 1046 punters there tonight, the stay aways are gradually returning!!

Start with the negative, poor defending from set pieces, terrible goal to lose and shite defending for their second.

Positives, knew once we clicked we'd stick s few by someone. Forrest, Preston and Moore as s front 3 is superb. You have pace, presence and trickery. Forrest was a whisker away from goal of the season with that strike that hit the under side of the bar and Moore had a half chance with another header that hit the bar. Devlin and Docherty also superb tonight.

Note on Ross Caldwell, a bit petulant, obviously disappointed he's not starting, came on, didn't look too interested, scored, didn't celebrate, straight down the tunnel at full time when others were shaking hands and speaking to each other. McCall won't be too pleased.

As a side note, Cowden must be utter horse shite if Stenny spanked them.

A comfortable 5-2 victory against a decent looking side with a shite defence.

That's about it in a nutshell. I really don't think we're too bad a side but the defending is killing us.

Can't really fault the effort they tried their best just up against a team who have recruited well with better resources there's no great shame in that I suppose.

Once you equalised, if you had taken one of the half chances it would've been a completely different match. For once we were clinical and killed the game straight after half time.

Good overall performance with some great goals. As commented earlier, toys out the pram for Caldwell, we don't need bad eggs in the club, get rid if that's his manner, could see in the warm up and at ht his face was tripping him. up to him to win a starting 11 place, attitude like that tonight, no thanks. Mentioned by a good few round about us tonight.
