Sarto Mutiny
Think what would happen to athletics if Bolt ever tested positive. So he won't.
The Chlamydia Kid
You do realise Gatlin isn't cheating now, right? He got caught cheating in 2006 and was banned for 4 years then. Assuming he's been clean since 2010 (which he'd be mental not to be, considering what happened), the fact he cheated a decade ago is totally irrelevant to his running now. No It isn't irrelevant that he cheated before. If you use steroids then you gain an advantage and boost in performance that lasts long after you stop using them. welshbairn
So is the idea now that anyone who wins anything must be a cheat?
Boostin' Kev
I'd draw the line at levelling accusations at snooker and darts players. For those that don't want to believe, do you take an interest in the roles that many sport's athletes 'nutrition teams' play and do you have the ability to consider what role politics and money play within the sport? Tamdunk
Just that there's a good chance of it and that doping is prevalent in loads of sports.
Diamonds are Forever
So is the idea now that anyone who wins anything must be a cheat? In endurance sports, probably. With so much fame and fortune at stake people will take the risk. In sports like tennis or football, whilst there are obviously some people cheating, there's not as much incentive as drugs are not going to significantly improve your skill level. Diamonds are Forever
Think what would happen to athletics if Bolt ever tested positive. So he won't. That's pretty much it. If he does, or has, failed a test we wont find out until long after he retires. It would kill athletics stone dead and make a complete mockery of the governing bodies, not a chance he will be allowed to fail one.

Bishop Briggs
Armstrong won his sport's most gruelling race multiple times after having multiple cancers at once. Not really comparable. Do you honestly think that Lance Armstrong was not doping after his illness? The man has admitted lying and cheating throughout his career. Likewise with tennis. If Djokovic or Nadal ever tested positive, it would never be released. What about the women players? Are they all clean? Tennis is either in denial about doping or still covering up positive tests. The ATP covered up Andre Agassi's positive in 1997 for crystal meth. Cycling's experience shows that positives put off big sponsors. Why take the risk of losing them? SaintZorro
Big development today with Paula Radcliffe. Disappointing, but not unexpected considering how far ahead of her peers she was. See how it pans out whether she gets dropped by the BBC or it just never gets mentioned bit like linford christie. Could be much wider implications possibly. Just speculating but could the select committee recommend a uk wide "no needles" rule like in cycling which would stop the footballers pain killing injections. FWIW I don't believe Bolt is completely clean for the same reasons, just too good.

Was not mentioned at a discussion about doping bit is straight out with a release denying any involvement.
