loyal-blue
Would be interested to hear from some folks on p+b about getting a dog. Where to buy, what to look for, type of dog to get etc. Also, anybody who rents property and owns a dog could maybe share their experiences. Quentin Taranbino
If you have carpets in your house and you are getting a puppy, prepare to have pish stained floors for a while until they are properly toilet trained. Don't let them upstairs until they are at least trained and buy a good carpet cleaning machine. Depending on the dog you may need to get a good hoover as well. Cheap ones won't pick up dog hair

Mr Rational
Serious about getting a dog? Dogs trust. It will be vaccinated, wormed, chipped and snipped and you will be giving a home to an unwanted pet. Failing that, PADS or somewhere like that. If you are interested in a spaniel of some description, PM me but it's through SRS and they will home check you before matching you up.
Jacksgranda
Get a pig in case you fall on hard times and need to eat it. Or he could always emigrate to Korea and take the dog with him...
Sergeant Wilson
Or he could always emigrate to Korea and take the dog with him...Good thinking. I'd still prefer a pig, they're so versatile.
milton75
Dogs are great, but cats do shade it for me, purely on the smell issue. But dogs are still great. That said - the pedigree breeding business is simply organised and bizarre cruelty. You will end up with an animal that will have, to a lesser or greater degree some congenital health defects. Also, anyone that doesn't own a threshing machine and has a dog with a docked tail is subhuman scum.
