In 2017, the 4 previous councillors were as follows: First preferences in 2017 Con 36.6% 2841 votes Lab 16.8% 1305 SNP 15.8% 1229 SNP 15.0% 1165 So there were 2 SNP, 1 Tory & 1 Lab elected on 30.8%, 36.6% and 16.8% respectively. Surprised to see it vote Tory but a lot of people from Edinburgh have made the move across the Forth and commute. Possibly an explanation. Ginaro Posted September 7, 2018 Share Posted September 7, 2018 Shouldn't come as a surprise to those paying attention - Dalgety Bay East elected a Conservative councillor in 1999 (only one in Fife) and 2003 (one of two in Fife). I'd have thought the opposite if anything. If you're moving out of your own city, presumably to be able to afford to buy, then I would guess you're likely to be young to middle aged and earning an average income. I can see there being plenty of alright jack retired Tories in Aberdour and the like but I don't think this can be blamed on Edinburgh commuters. Looks like the Tories have nudged a few extra percent on a lower turnout. Hardly a big surprise.
