Took on a very young killie side with no money and achieved top 6 with them.

He didn't though.

Just looking at the core of the side - Tim Clancy (27), Garry Hay (34), James Fowler (30), Frazer Wright (31), Manuel Pascali (30). All of whom played a lot that season. In fact, the only guy that regularly featured but was of a "young" age was Liam Kelly (21).

Brought in good experience like eremenko etc

As was said above, Eremenko only arrived as a favour for his father. The rest of the players he brought in were an absolute clusterfuck, with several on two-and-a-half year deals. Looking at just those on longer deals: Scott Evans (who?) is now playing amateur football in Wales in his mid-twenties. Benjamin Laurant never played a professional game again after signing for us. Willy Aubamayang now plays regional football in Germany. Billy Berntsson now plies his trade in Malta, after spells in Iceland. Willie Gros has barely played any football since leaving us, and failed to get a contract from his pal at Queen of the South earlier this year.

So naw, he didnae bring in good experience. He handed a lot of long deals out to guys with little or no ability.

I mind someone suggesting that whichever manager tipped up to watch the last Hearts game was a pretty good bet to be the next United gaffer - the only one that did was Mixu.

Looks like that logic was fairly sound.

No idea if he'll be a good manager or not, much the same as with most, and his record is as varied as most others too. We shall see.

Still, nice to see the big Finnish basta back at Tannadeecee!
