Top 5 Critically Denounced Things That you Love

The Other Foot

In response to the critically acclaimed thread, what things do you love that have been slandered by the majority of critics? For me:

1. The Waterboy. There's a lot of crap Adam Sandler movies out there, but this isn't one of them. The 65% of critics on Rotten Tomatoes who hated it are idiots. Sports? Check. Humorous plot? Check. Fairuza Balk? Check. Now that's some qqq...quality H2O.

2. The Godfather 3. Yes, it's ridiculous in parts, some of the acting is shocking, and the dark, earthy tone of the previous movies is lost. But the trilogy needed to be rounded off somewhere, and that f*cking Sophia Coppola getting done in on the stairs is - quite frankly - bracing.

3. The Eurovision Song Contest. It's only been considered a joke in the UK since we've started doing so badly. Yes, it's strange to listen to music in other languages. It sounds like nonsense. It probably is nonsense. But then, consider the lyrics to some popular songs in the English language: "Now you get to watch her leave out the window, guess that's why they call it window pane." F*ck you, Marshall. F*ck you.

4. Scottish football. While the cretins to the south of the border seem to think that our league system is a big, fat, Kris Boyd-shaped joke, everyone on P&B knows that Scottish football is the most majestic form of this sport on the face of the planet.

5. The Phantom Menace. As a child, this movie was absolutely ace...when it was released, people seemed to suddenly forget that the Star Wars series is for CHILDREN and should not be judged based on the dewy-eyed reminiscences of some forty-year old virgins who can't leave the past behind. Jar Jar Whats-his-puss was a bit of a kick in the balls, mind you.

3) The Mexican, (I like it so f*ck off!),

4) New Scotland Away Kit, (except on fat people),

5) Natural Muffs, (none of this shaved malarkey).

Police Academy 5: Assignment Miami Beach

Police Academy 6: City Under Siege

Police Academy 3: Back in Training

Tellingly, Police Academy 7: Mission To Moscow - is noticeable by its absence.
