Pretty good update/more detail from the Guardian.

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2022/dec/09/revealed-the-full-inside-story-of-the-michelle-mone-ppe-scandal

After listing all their recent spending the article makes this observation:

Whatever the ultimate source of the funds, it now looks as though the couple are selling their assets almost as quickly as they acquired them. Both of their well-appointed residences, the grand Ballakew estate and their Eaton Terrace London home, are now up for sale. So too is the Lady M yacht.

Thanks, so basically got the huge profit, booked £5m in the UK, the rest in IoM so no tax, they then buy up properties all over Scotland, planes and yachts.

These are a right pair of c***s.

However, in 2020 the links between PPE Medpro, Mone and Barrowman were not fully known. And they were denied, dismissed or downplayed by lawyers representing all three parties. Asked about PPE Medpro, lawyers for Mone and Barrowman insisted the couple were not involved and had “no role or function in PPE Medpro, nor in the process by which contracts were awarded to PPE Medpro”.

Deploying the language of aggressive legal threats, Mone’s lawyers have repeatedly denied that she was “connected in any way” to the business. One said in December 2020 that “any suggestion of an association” between Mone and PPE Medpro would be inaccurate, misleading and defamatory.

If/when the truth comes out and statements from lawyers might be shown to be misleading at the very least, would there not a case for bringing professional action against the lawyers involved?

Far too early to make assumptions like that.

We all have our feelings about this most unlikeable person but you just have to let the wheels of justice grind on.

I feel sure she will get her comeuppance.

I’d imagine only if the lawyers knowingly lied, even then I doubt it.

Lawyers are only dutybound to represent their clients to the best of their ability, they're not judges or auditors.

They still have professional obligations; there are things that they cannot do.

For those interested in this story the Guardian is today (Saturday 10/12) running a very in-depth analysis.

Pretty good summary, didn't realise the National Crime Agency was involved, they deal with serious and organised crime. Hope she likes Honduras and they don't have any extradition agreement or she could be doing her next Instagram life lesson from Holloway. The better connected thieves are throwing her to the lions as a scapegoat it would seem.

That wasn't the best thing I've seen this week, but only Harry Kane blootering it over the bar is ahead

One of Mone’s husband’s firms handed out iffy advice that resulted in people losing a big chunk of their pensions.

Some of them did get some of the money back via claims approved by the Financial Service Compensation scheme.  No prizes for guessing who funds that…
