drs Posted December 13, 2015 Share Posted December 13, 2015 Its a joke that clubs with no home ground of their own, Cove and Stirling Uni, could actually get promoted into the senior leagues without having grounds that actually meet SPFL standards - Stirling have had 2 seasons to put something together but are happy to leech of an SPFL club. And when Berwick do go down at the end of the season its finally time to jettison them from Scottish football and let them play in their own country. It's a disgrace that clubs can just rent a ground to meet requirements. Off the top of my head that includes Dundee Raith rovers Falkirk Livingston Cowden The mighty da(top of the league) Airdrie East Stirlingshire Stirling Clyde Hamilton Stranraer. You'll then have more clubs who have loans secured against there ground, or restrictions on when they can use it ( Forfar for example ground share with the ladies side and that will remain until the plastic is lifted ) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I'd far rather play in the Scottish Cup anyway - tradition obviously, plus win a couple of ties and you've reached the all-in stages with potential to play big teams, get TV coverage and exposure, and potentially go on a run. Last season we reached the Quarter-Finals. In the FA Cup, we'd probably get eliminated by some team we've never heard of in the Third Extra Preliminary Round or something like that, after a huge trip to the far end of England.
