HibeeJibee
So only people who picked one of these teams last time round pick again? Either that or just see if their original pick wins or draws (in which case they'd be through) or loses (in which case they'd be out). Sort of question which justifies the trial-run. Surely Killie should have lost 2-0 rather than draw 2-2? Correct, I made a mistake on the very last game. Corrected.

Coooombe
Correct, I made a mistake on the very last game. Corrected. Pretty depressing thought that for a few minutes our top (and only) scorer this season was HibeeJibee.
Merkin
This weekend's results. Quite a massacre of league clubs including Hearts, Dumbarton, East Fife, Dundee, Hamilton, Motherwell, East Stirlingshire, Arbroath, Forfar, Morton, Queen's Park, Clyde, Alloa, Airdrie and Livingston exiting at the hands of non-league opposition. Motherwell 0-4 Heriot-Watt University Christ, is it December already?
Christophe
First round replays - weekend of August 15th Lossiemouth v Edinburgh City Clachnacuddin v Eyemouth United East Kilbride v Aberdeen Nithsdale Wanderers v Annan Athletic Rothes v Fleet Star Berwick Rangers v Formartine United St Mirren v Heston Rovers Whitehill Welfare v BSC Glasgow Vale of Leithen v Fort William Cowdenbeath v Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale Peterhead v Dumfries YMCA Brechin City v Hibernian Dundee United v Selkirk Wick Academy v Preston Athletic If any ties are drawn again, both clubs advance to the next round. Just a suggestion while you're ironing out the problems in the trial - could do a 'golden goal' style earliest goal wins the tie in the event of a draw? If it's going to help keep the teams in the next round even rather than putting both through?
HibeeJibee
Could do. In this case it wouldn't work, as times aren't reported in EOSL & SOSL (and with varying reliability in HL & LL). There were 51 ties & 1 bye in R1 anyway so putting twice-drawn clubs through won't affect things, might actually help come latter stages. Putting both through is what they did in the very early days of the Scottish Cup, interestingly. Other tie-breaks could be multiple replays, or away goals, or (in later rounds) goal count back. craigkillie
Other tie-breaks could be multiple replays, or away goals, or (in later rounds) goal count back. Goals conceded would be the obvious one surely?
HibeeJibee
My concern (not that it would matter much tbf) is that you're then introducing an element of having to consider winning margin / defensiveness, not just pure goalscoring prowess. HibeeJibee
Here are this weekend's replay results; those marked # drew both games or one of or both didn't have a game, and both advance to the next round. (Incidentally this saved Eyemouth whose opponents had rattled 12 goals in ). Shocking defeats for Aberdeen and Berwick Rangers. Rothes won. HibeeJibee
Second round results. Even at this early stage, I think the difficulty of actually being able to predict a winner with reasonably accuracy is a big pitfall. That said the equivalent on FitbaNorth seems to have been running for several years so they must get on all right. Deila's job in doubt after a shock home exit to SOSL strugglers Crichton. Hibs also went down 2-0 to Fort William. Coldstream skelped Dunfermline. Nairn County 3-3 Heriot-Watt University Celtic 3-4 Crichton Heston Rovers 1-1 Cowdenbeath Wick Academy 1-3 Raith Rovers Queen of the South 2-2 Peterhead Inverurie Loco Works 1-1 Craigroyston Whitehill Welfare 4-1 Annan Athletic Buckie Thistle 3-0 Albion Rovers Brechin City 1-4 Edusport Academy Rothes 0-5 Leith Athletic Dalbeattie Star 2-1 Elgin City Falkirk 2-4 Ross County Wigtown & Bladnoch 2-5 East Kilbride Peebles Rovers 3-8 Formartine United Abbey Vale 1-0 Tynecastle Fraserburgh 2-1 Edinburgh City Mid-Annandale 1-0 Eyemouth United Turriff United 2-0 Lochar Thistle St. Johnstone 2-0 Strathspey Thistle Hibernian 0-2 Fort William Brora Rangers 0-2 Clachnacuddin Stenhousemuir 1-0 St. Mirren Stranraer 1-1 Rangers Nithsdale Wanderers 1-2 Ormiston Cove Rangers 3-4 Edinburgh University Gretna 2008 1-1 Civil Service Strollers Coldstream 7-1 Dunfermline Athletic Spartans 0-4 Selkirk
