They are not only bottom of the current season table but bottom of the relegation 3 season points average table, the relegation express looks like it will be calling at Gimnasia

and now they've decided to go with a publicity stunt rather than a serious appointment to try and save themselves.byeee, dont let the door hit your arse on the way out

KR lifted the Icelandic League title on Saturday. Their first since 2013 and 27th in total. They’s actually secured it a few weeks earlier as 5hey finished on 52 points, 14 above second placed Breidablik who they defeated 2-1 away in the last game of the season. FH (3rd) and Vikingur (Cup winner) also qualify for Europa League.

The top 4 teams in Sweden are all on 59 pts after Hammarby beat Malmö FF and AiK won 5-1 at Falkenbergs FF yesterday. Hammarby & Malmö FF both have GD of 33, Djurgården 30, AIK 24 with 2 games to go except for Djurgården away to IFK Gōteborg tonight. Hammarby listed as top which guessing is because they’ve scored more (69 v 49) or won more (18 v 17).

Shakhtar’s Taison was racially abused by the home fans against Dynamo Kiev today. He reacted by kicking the ball into the crowd. The referee then sent him off. He left the field with his teammate, Dentinho, in tears. Horrible to watch. https://t.co/WP9Iv62ZPd

This is never going to go away :-(.

It needs stamped out

YB and Basel both won at the weekend to stay clear in 1st and 2nd respectively. YB have a 1 point advantage after 14 games, and seem to have regained form after a wee bit of a wobble in September.

Lausanne still running away with the 2nd league, averaging 3 goals a game. Only 4 points ahead of Grasshoppers but can't see them being complacent enough or GC being good enough to bridge that gap over the next 22 games.

Dickson Etuhu was found guilty of trying to bribe former AIK goalie Kenny Stamatolopoulos in the Swedish league.  I have many questions but the first is why Stamatolopoulos?  The former Canada International goalie, although registered as a player, has played precisely 2 competive games in the last 3 years.

This Sunday coming is the 33rd game week of the Brazilian top flight, the top four qualify for the Libertadores group stages with fifth and sixth entering the qualifiers and finally the teams finishing from seventh through to twelfth entering the Europa League equivalent, the Copa Sudamericana.

This current season has been something of a procession for Flamengo, who presently sit 11 points ahead of Palmeiras in second - albeit Palmeiras have a game in hand, as do most of the league after Flamengo drew 4-4 through the night with Vasco da Gama.

Along with Palmeiras, Santos are rather comfortable in third place with the last group stage place being held by Gremio - although [in order] Paranaense, Internacional and Corinthians could catch them. Those are probably going to qualify for the continental competitions of one description or another while Bahia and Vasco should qualify for the Sudamericana, Goias have to look over the shoulder at the likes of Fortaleza who are a point behind Mineiro who are in the last Sudamericana place.

At the basement, the bottom four go down and Avai are pretty much doomed with 18 points to play for they are 18 adrift of safety [Which is almo more than the amount of pints they already have - 17] with amuch worse GD. Likely to join them are Chapecoense, who have been in the news for more unfortunate reasons in recent years, but it looks like their race is run after a brave battle against the drop last season, they're likely going down this season.

Extremely likely to go with those two are CSA, newly promoted from the league below but the last place is extremely interesting as there are a couple of really big names slugging out to avoid the drop in Cruzeiro and Fluminense as well as Botafogo - and nobody in Brazil is too big to go down, as shown by stints in the second tier by Corinthians, Palmeiras, Vasco and Internacional among others in the two decades this century.

Ulsan Hyundai need a point next week on the last day of the K-League season to take the title.

If they do get it, they'll be the first team other than Jeonbuk to win the title 'on the pitch' since 2013. FC Seoul did win it in 2016, but only because Jeonbuk were docked points.

Dundee United legend Adam Taggart is top scorer in the K-League. Playing for Suwon.
