The Terrible Journalism & Tom English Thread

Its not even though. It is literally just drivel and a breakdown of the list and the barely hidden "f**k, tie everything we can to the Old Firm". Surprised there isnt a line along the "Brondby, which starts with a B like the Bhoys, topped the list much like Celtic topped the Scottish Premiership table ahead of Rangers".

There is no discussion whatsoever about why Hibs and/or St Mirren were included so highly. What makes them so well run compared to others?

It isnt journalism. It is just content designed purely to get people to click, skim read the short article and go click on some other Old Firm centric pish.

Correct, no explanation, no discussion of the criteria used, nothing.

I mean, what's the definition of well run?

Edit - Motherwell, fan owned, who do loads of community stuff and give out free season tickets, are worse run than Ross County, basically solely owned by a guy with more money than sense who spunks money on wages and then gets another of his companies to write it off every year?  Guid ane.

I am not that bothered about this stuff, but here is the report the Record lifted.

Ah. So it's a weighted model of EBITDA margin, return on assets and equity ratio to 185 European clubs.

Thats that cleared up.

Craig is right about this tbh. Celtic won the European Cup back in an era when professionalised football in Europe was basically in it's infancy. West Germany only formed a professional league in 1963. Sweden, Belgium, Denmark etc. were yet to develop one at all. To try and compare it to a European run in the modern era is daft.

Maybe true , but the Italians , Portuguese and Spanish were pretty good along with the eastern European teams
