He's one horrible c**t. He wants nothing to do with the abuse yet proceeds to mention it in his newspaper column. Yeah, sure. Practically begging for it to happen.

Specifically mentioning him waving an Irish flag to justify any abuse he receives

Not so much a dog whistle but a bullhorn

Would like the players union to come out and condemn that article.

Probably the most shameful example of an OF pundit doing a “please like me, rangers fans!!!” Piece.

Maybe slight off topic, but I was just having a quick listen to the Athletic podcast about Euro 92

Stewart Weir was contributing to it from a Scottish perspective

It felt embarrassing listening to him, didn’t say a single positive thing about Scotland, didn’t even discuss the team we had

Came across as almost apologetic for us being at the tournament and having a cheek to beat the CIS in it

Claimed one of the reasons Scotland fans didn’t cause trouble was because we realised if we smashed up a pub at 12pm, it won’t be opened later after the game.

I had to double check, only 8 teams qualified for that tournament so we must have been half decent

Horrific article, but taking aside the obvious playing to the gallery, there is some kernels of truth in there. Griffiths does have himself to blame for a lot of his problems and yes, he should be able to not react to taunts and chants, but that article reads like a call to Rangers fans to go hell for leather at Griffiths. What does tieing a scarf or waving a flag have to do with his current form, problems or ability?

Boyd of all people should be able to see beyond the stuff surrounding a game and see there is bigger issues here, but rather than offer help or advice, he just has a dog whistle to the Rangers fans.

Problem is, we will see more of this kind of stuff from papers as it is total clickbait to support their attempts to stem a slow death.

Boyd could have a lot to contribute to sports media in Scotland, but he's too busy being the media guy for the Govan team.

All pundits will be barred from every stadium at this rate.

To be fair, he wasn’t banned for comments about Dundee, he was going out his way to give RFC fans the green light to abuse Griffiths.

Doesn’t really matter what you think about him, but that’s not on

Sorry but he doesn’t really, even by footballers standards he’s pretty thick. I have no idea why he’s a permanent pundit, watching him take deep breaths whilst trying to piece his thoughts at live games is a painful watch.

Stewart Weir is maybe the biggest Scottish cringe merchant in the world. No surprise really, given he’s a rabid *** from Larkhall.

Daily Record getting telt by The Sun and yet they still both manage to come out of it as losers:

Kris Boyd NOT banned from Dens Park - as Rangers legend praised for live reporting of Dundee clash for Sky (thescottishsun.co.uk)

Christ, reads as if Boyd wrote the article himself. Wonder if the fan who praised him was his mum!

Oh, don't get me wrong, I think he is terrible when reporting on games and is such a sneery pundit, but he COULD contribute something given his experiences playing, knowledge of metal health issues and goalscoring abilities. But, he wants to be a pounshop pundit and try to wind folk up.

How unfortunate that they didn't get the whole of that sign in the picture...
