You think fan media has an effect on that? Podcasts and website run by fans maybe driving down the levels previously required when folk are maybe more interested in the "common fan" angle, not at dig at anyone's podcasts or websites btw, I just realised it looks like a thinly veiled dig.

There are players whose career was ended by a horror tackle and don't get this sort of coverage eg Norrie McWhirter being done by James Grady. Or Ross the cnut Tokley who completely finished Chris Kerr’s career.
DukDukGoose
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/55036992 Maybe not terrible journalism but wasn't sure where to post this. After Rangers promotion we've had years of them attempting to convince us that there will now be a genuine title challenge. Now it looks like it's going to be Rangers title to lose and they publish this?

TheScarf
He played professional football after his injury, meaning he made a full recovery.

I'm not sure if you're being serious? He could recover to the extent he has the same amount of movement in the injured joint but could be in absolute agony after rigorous exercise. His other body parts could be overcompensating for the previous injury and cause him further damage.

In fairness, surely you need to realise what you are saying is nonsense. Simply returning to professional football can't be considered a full recovery. A full recovery would be reaching the level of ability you had prior to said injury. Players with serious injuries often struggle to do that. In the bad old days, when a player suffered a torn ACL, they could get back to playing football full-time within 12-18 months but they were rarely the same player.

Dons_1988
Ian Durrant never made a full recovery. You don't need to from a dive.
AJF
Interesting stat. After spending 3 years out the game due to his injury, Ian Durrant went on to lift more League trophies than Aberdeen have in their entire history. Levels.

He was pretty much just the team mascot at that point though. A very successful passenger no doubt.

Dig out a few stats, craft some words round them, hit the publish button and - bingo, its time to hit the Negronis. I read very little of the BBC output these days, even if its about Hibs because its invariably out of date or (like in this case) complete shite.
