This sentence from BBC hurt my brain:

‘Celtic defender Hatem Abd Elhamed has hinted he could miss longer than expected after hinting at an extended injury lay-off on social media. (Sunday Mail)’

The BBC gossip column, which contains very little gossip.

Sounds like he hinted at it twice.  The guy loves dropping hints.

Some player has one great game and there is a short term clamour to have him in the Scotland squad/team. It happened to Lyndon Dykes a month or so ago with his performance against Celtic, and now Chris Burke touted to be back in the Scotland fold after one match against Hearts. Does ma head in.

This is more a PTTGOYN than terrible journalism but the Scottish football paper round up on BBC sport this morning, the first two items are Marco Silva getting sacked from Everton (Davie Moyes linked) and John Mcginn's future at Aston Villa.

Appreciate that it's to do with Scottish individuals but don't really see it as Scottish football news as such or they could at least hide it away at the bottom.

Same gossip column has Olly McBurnie story Says he had VAR to thank for his goal after tweeting he hated it. Suggests that without VAR which he hates he wouldn't have had his goal. In fact ref had given the goal and VAR might have taken it away but didn't. So without VAR his goal wasn't at risk! The opposite of what they try to suggest

Probably done by someone on work experience

Reading that makes me think that a future generation of football journalists will make the likes of Chic Young and Hugh Keevins look like journalistic titans.
