The good thing about last nights celtic transfer is the papers had already been printed.

Being 12 to 14 hours behind gives them a full day to think of something negative to print tomorrow.

Celtic should announce all signings at 11pm.

That's why I posted it. As a supposed sports journalist, Nevin should know this.

Nevin has managed to spend over three decades conning lots of people into thinking he's intelligent.

Nevin has managed to spend over three decades conning lots of people onto thinking he's intelligent.
He clearly is intelligent. Not superhuman levels of intelligence, but definitely well above average for Scotland.

He's articulate. That in itself doesn't guarantee intelligence.

Correct.  It doesn't.

In this case however, it's not particularly relevant either because Nevin is not even especially articulate.

Above average for a Scottish footballer perhaps, but only a little bit.

Whats next?  'Scott Bain buys £40 of unleaded from an Asda petrol station.'

Nah. It’d be “Scott Bain buys £40 of unleaded from as Asda petrol station and makes Lewis Spence pay for it because Bain’s better than petrol says Tom English”

I enjoyed Tom English’s article on the BBC about the upcoming season in Scottish football, where he spent the first 4 paragraphs talking about *checks notes* English football.

The Scottish Premiership should be sponsored by Alton Towers was a particular highlight for me.

Scotsman and Herald running more or less diametrically opposed stories. At least one of these must surely be terrible journalism, unless Celtic really are hours away from having Neil Lennon at a press conference extolling the footballing prowess of some random kid he's never heard of.

The Scotsman story is from last night’s Sportsound where Neil Lennon threw Liam McLeod under a bus, albeit good-naturedly, for asking about “the Ecuadorean lad”. Lennon claimed never to have heard of him, leading to dead air from the useless McLeod.

All hinges on whether you take Lennon at his word.

Both are entirely consistent with recruitment going on without input from the manager, which is something that the shiny faced weirdo alluded to a couple of times.

An entire post-football career, and a reputation for intelligence based entirely on liking Joy Division.
