The Terrible Journalism & Tom English Thread

Recommended Posts

Does it count as terrible journalism that Ayr in third are playing leaders Ross County tonight, which is live on the BBC, but BBC Sport Scotland haven't even got the smallest preview of the match on their site?

And instead, the main headline on the Championship page is "Premiership sticks with winter break".

It probably counts as a bit shit if nothing else.

Ross County's new signing Michael Gardner will be proud of his contribution though...

Not really terrible journalism but this photoshop job by the Daily Record is hilariously terrible

As The Absolute Game said many years ago, game abandoned due to a big dug.

Barry Ferguson with an article on the manner of McLeish being sacked.

Quote

Imagine being a man of Alex’s stature and having to walk into functions and events with people pointing behind your back and whispering that you’re going to get sacked, or folk coming up to you and asking if you are losing your job?

So basically the same as any football manager under pressure at any club in the world.

Imagine being a man who was, decades ago, very good at a totally different job to the one he is currently failing miserably at.... And being judged by his current standards, rather than those of decades ago, in that totally different job.

Sometimes life just isnt fair.

Barry Ferguson? The same wee ned p***k who undermined the national team manager when he played by going out drinking until 5am when told not to? The same guy who pissed all over his manager's trust with that incident? Who then further trampled on it and undermined the manager by not taking his (fair) punishment and getting on with it and, instead of acting like a reasonable adult and talking to the manager about why he felt said punishment was not fair, resorted to wee snidey schoolboy antics on camera?

That Barry Ferguson?
