DrumFP
We're on the same boat bud. Half of our team unavailable due to holidays/work/TITP/injuries. Shadow team tomorrow for us and also a chance to look at a number of new players and trialists. Looking forward to the game, better looking at players against decent opposition. All about fitness at this stage of the season.

geo87
Totally agree with both arguments, (points)played Thorn last season (beat them on pens and we play in 1B )and have a pre season game lined up with them, good strong side. Also as BIg Hartson commented on both Postal and Aitkenhead left the Caley for Central and both relegated, to be fair both decent sides, Postal and aitken head left the safl. Aitkenhead had done well consistently for a few years so were prob right to move on, postal had one good year (after there Manager became the select team manager and poached loads of players), and got ideas above their stations and were found out. trousers
Both postal and aikenhead are still playing at a cracking level this season. Premier is always strong but 1a and 1b are getting stronger as well.

Crazy Feet
Yes - Aikenhead have folded. A few have signed with Rannoch (as per their twitter account). I believe a few have went to St Mungo as well with a few others going to different teams.

trousers
Problem is when teams like aikenhead or wellhouse lose players they don't want to just take the avg amateur player on board to replace them. I mean how they both can't get players in is beyond me?
pollokprince
If thats the case with wellhouse then campsie minerva would go back up to the premier i feel for wee robert noble if they have folded pure gentleman

Budandavodka
Postal and aitken head left the safl. Aitkenhead had done well consistently for a few years so were prob right to move on, postal had one good year (after there Manager became the select team manager and poached loads of players), and got ideas above their stations and were found out. Postal had 3 good seasons in SAFL and moved in order to progress and challenge players/club further. 2010/2011 - SAFL Premier Division 1 Winners, Semis of Scottish, Last 16 of the West. 2011/2012 - SAFL Premier Division Winners, 1/4s of Scottish, Last 16 of West, won SAFL Premier unbeaten as well as winning the two SAFL Cups. 2012/2013 - SAFL Premier Division Winners, 1/4s of the West 2013/2014 - Central Scottish Divsion 1B winners As far as poaching players, only 2 players joined the club who were part of the SAFL Select team and 1 returned within a couple of months to their previous team, these players joined the club having spoke to players they were friends with who were also part of the select team. Ideas above our station, the club has been on the go for over 40 years now, the move to the Central was to further the ambitions of Committee, Management, Coaching staff and players who quite rightly seen the Central as the place to be playing their football at amateur level. We managed to win promotion to Premier at first time of asking and yes we fell short last year and deservedly were relegated but as everyone who's played/managed in the Premier its the toughest out there week in/week out, I would say the last 5 seasons all things considered have been pretty good. Mr Noble founded Wellhouse in September, 1976. Next season would have taken him and the club into 40 years. Wont be easy for Mr Noble or Club President Mr Yule attending Wednesday's league meeting to officially confirm they have folded. They and new manager Anthony Griffith deserved to be treated better by the players remaining from last season. Mr Griffith played with a lot of these guys at The Gantry and Wellhouse - winning Scottish Cups in the process - but loyalty and respect for these gentlemen appears to have gone out of the window. A very honest and in-depth opinion on what has happened at the IMO. Only dealt with former manager John Hughes on a few occasions, but found him first-class. Can be proud of what he achieved over his five-years in charge.
