How's about a budget deficit currently of 0% compared to the UK's 1.5 % after a decade of austerity?

It is rather telling about the state of Scottish Labour, and much of Scottish politics, that McDonnell is being pilloried for eminently sensible, reasonable comments that at least demonstrate the most rudimentary awareness of democracy and national self-determination.

Don’t encourage them; it’s EUref2 (and I say that as someone who thinks it should happen). The “people’s vote” name is rank, and a cheap ploy to make it sound like it’s not a second referendum (thereby downplaying the hypocrisy in claiming to oppose second referendums).

What has that to do with how rich Ireland is? 

Debt per capita would appear to be far more representative of wealth.  Ireland - €44365, UK £27578 (€29921)

Even the Tory frontbench team at Holyrood who are staunch 'noindyref2' right now have made it clear that they see some sort of route towards it happening with Davidson herself saying that its possible in the next Scottish Parliamentary term.

The likes of Murray and McDougall are total extremists. Ironically, they are pretty much the embodiment of narrow minded identity politics and wouldn't look out of place in the DUP tbh. Just fucked up little activists with the most diddyish small business interests imaginable who have delusions of their parties cemented infinite moral superiority and their own competence.

Mental that Labour types are screaming for a "People's Vote" i.e.  Euroref2, yet totally against indyref2. At least some of the English MP's are starting to embrace democracy and realise this is an issue that Scotland should be raising again, never mind the fact the current Scottish government 100% have a mandate to do so.

We are going to face the fact that we all need to stop measuring absolutely everything in monetary terms. It's self perpetuating and until the world gets to grip wih a concept outwith this then we will tie ourselves in knots forever. Money is segueing away from nations to rich individuals at such an alarming rate that the only way to halt it is to look at alternatives to money.
