For information, Sweden, which had never been in the EU, applied to join on 1 July 1991 and became a member on 1 January 1995, 3 1/2 years later.
A country which has been in the EU for 46 years and which meets all entry requirements will have a far shorter negotiating period.
And? Were in. Moronic to think otherwise. How is cross border trade with England in this scenario?

So will the Snippers include an EU accession timetable as part of any future independence ballot?
Thought not.
See no reason why not. It's be a winner and cause the eu to put cards on the table at last.

End of the day if you think Scotland isn't eu compatible at some point in 0-5 years you're a brain donor

The same as it is for any other EU member.

Not sure how more wrong you could be about this one.  Celtic were established precisely because of Scotland's tolerance of immigrants.  Their entire raison d'etre (in the early days) was not to feed the poor and hungry of the East End but, in fact, to stop them taking Presbyterian soup i.e. to stop them enjoying the generosity of the native Scots.
I do like any chance to boot the empty-headed Yessers on here in the metaphorical baws but you got this one badly wrong.

Then it's simple.  Go to a Brexit-fatigued electorate with no divorce agreement with  rUK and no pre-nup with The EU and see what the outcome is.

Independence.

Don't bother calling indyref2. Rightly or wrongly England has fucked it for us all.

Economics can't be won on that scenario over midterm.

We're part of eu but only country with an integrated economy with England.

Good luck selling a hard work border to Scots. Game over.

Thought so. Who exactly is proposing a hard border?

In the scenario of hard brexit? UK govt , Irish and eu

Sorry edited to add. Your answer was shite and I'm an indy supporter. As well not bothering if that's our comeback.

If there is a border; failing to see a way round it, Indy is fucked

😂 Have you never heard of the Common Travel Area? Do you genuinely believe there won't be a rUK-EU trade agreement? Do you genuinely not know that immigration is a national competence and not an EU one?

Holy shit. The common travel area. They've spent years and it was in their faces the whole time.

I'm actually trying to help you here.

Flung out of their high rises in a fit of rage?

Thinking a way round a hard border with England should probably be the number one priority for the independence movement. It's a disaster waiting to happen for the campaign.

The prospect of Sturgeon sounding like Rees Mogg and Johnson, saying that non existent technology will solve the problem will not be a good look.

What is the issue with a hard border? I imagine if we’re travelling to England for a holiday we’ll need to have our passport inspected coming/going, and vice versa, but what’s the big deal in your opinion?
