You've got the Westminster Government actively trying to ship refugees against their will to Sub-Saharan Africa, 4000 miles away from their friends and family, but no, the important thing is that a twat with no followers turned up at Scottish demo. :1eye

We know all the racists and xenophobes in the UK overwhelmingly supported Brexit and wrapped themselves in the flag. Current Tory policy is just red meat to that bunch.

Evidence please.

Here's mine

Holocost denial, expelled from UKIP, jacket from Trafalgar & born abroad

https://www.heraldscotland.com/news/16399120.meet-pro-union-activist-worked-orange-order-denies-jews-murdered-gas-chambers/

Links to Bnp (plus another mention of holocaust denial)

https://www.thenational.scot/news/19290315.greens-say-confusion-fascist-front-may-cost-seats/

Your turn.

The first article didn't have a holocaust denial, and quoted him as saying his jacket was by Pretty Green and not from Trafalgar.

A quick google of the Pretty Green jacket shows it as being sold 'off white', so it's not even manky either.

The National article even calls him an 'alleged holocaust denier' - they obviously know he hasn't denied it.

There's nothing about him having BNP links either.

Quite funny how Independent Green Voice won 1690 votes :D

Methinks you've been hoodwinked by the tartan echo-chamber.

1) The headline in the first article says "Meet the pro-union activist who has worked for the Orange Order and denies Jews were murdered in gas chambers"

2) He's been quoted elsewhere as saying that the Trafalgar lies are intended to wind up indy supporters.

3) The 3 IGV cadidates mentioned in the linked article are Mankyjaiket & "two former Bnp activists"

Do you have comprehension problems?

Give me a definition of 'country' that would exclude the UK.  For example, here's Collins' dictionary's attempt that clearly does include the UK:  "A country is one of the political units which the world is divided into, covering a particular area of land."

Fair enough. Looks like England isn't a country. Scotland clearly isn't a country either. Too wee, stupid and poor to consider being one. Ireland though, is a Country. 👍

You posted the articles as proof of your incorrect claims, however the articles don't back them up at all.

1- There's still no evidence that he has denied the holocaust took place.

2- Trafalgar lies?  He admits in the article his jacket is from Pretty Green.  Jokes/wind-ups, if he indeed made them (you've provided no evidence of this) aren't serious claims.  You're going to have to do better than that.

3- Sorry, but claiming he has 'links to the BNP' simply because he stood alongside former BNP activists is a stretch.  It'd be like claiming you've got links to Tesco because you're chatting to me - a former Tesco employee!

From the IHRA definition of antisemitism:

  • Denying the fact, scope, mechanisms (e.g. gas chambers) or intentionality of the genocide of the Jewish people at the hands of National Socialist Germany and its supporters and accomplices during World War II (the Holocaust).

Genuine question.  Why are you trying to have a logical debate with someone who is obviously trolling you?

No trolling at this end.

Making baseless assertions about 'Yoons' is quite common in the world of online Nattery.  They often derive their information from a wide range of conspiratorial blogs/podcasts/social media accounts that promote such nonsense and back up each others claims.  This is what I refer to as the 'tartan echo-chamber'.

The unfortunate result of the chamber's existence are the creation of people like Lichty, who really believe this stuff.  When challenged, instead of looking at the situation objectively, they then run to google to try and find evidence, only managing to come up the most tenuous of threadbare information imaginable.

Looking at the situations objectively, going where the evidence takes them and changing their minds simply is not an option for someone who has spent too long in the echo-chamber.

TBF, you'd be better letting folks think you're trolling mate. Otherwise you're just a pig-shit thick racist.

They are asylum seekers who have paid a load of money most of whom are looking for a better life.

Your use of the term refugee is not accurate.

When you or I try to visit friends or family overseas or indeed go on holiday we need passports, visas, whatever to gain entry. We can’t just ship up on a boat on a beach!

What a dull life you must lead.

What about Harry Enfield taking the piss out of Yorkshiremen or Ulstermen? Don’t you find it funny?

Yeah, my life's shite being in Chicago instead of Falkirk.

Not overly, but I was never a particular fan of Harry Enfield. He's at least not dropping racial slurs twenty to the dozen. Also -in  as much as race is a social construct rather than having any biological validity - he's the same race as Yorkshiremen and Ulstermen.

There are echo chambers everywhere, its not specific to those you don't agree with. Given there is a reasonable amount of debate in this Politics forum from different view points I don't think this part of the P&B forum is an 'echo chamber'.

I'm sure that the blogs/podcasts/social media accounts you chose to back up your point of view are perfectly fine and are completely neutral with no political bias at all.

Meanwhile carry on, comparing Tesco to the BNP is probably the funniest thing I've read in the last couple of days.

There are indeed echo chambers everywhere, but the tartan one is undoubtedly the most echoey.

I didn’t say P&B is an echo chamber, although it can be at times now you mention it.

I didn’t compare Tesco to the BNP.
