AUFC90
If Brexit actually gets properly confirmed, there'll be a referendum. If it isn't. there won't. She can't call one now because it's not confirmed. Are you too fucking thick to grasp this? Yes he is.

So she's so far bottled it. What hasn't been confirmed are the details of our new relationship with the EU and Sturgeon claims she is waiting on that detail being confirmed.....Bottled it , but that stance keeps the troops on board,

Loondave1
May shouting "Brexit means Brexit" and Sturgeon babbling on about "high probability of another Referendum " and both in reality pissing their pants while watching their bottle go.Ironic really.

Colkitto
Sturgeon will do as she said from the beginning and explore every avenue before coming to a decision regards indyref2. She will eventually of course go to parliament with two options, stay with the UK or stay in the EU as an independent country. In the immediate future she is going to force PM May's hand with legislating a request for the transfer of powers to hold a legally binding referendum. If Holyrood receives these powers then she can pick the time of her choosing for indyref2 . If May refuses then it will be the mother of all grievance politics. May will have to give a proper explanation for refusing the democratic mandate of the Scottish parliament. A decision that won't go down well here in Scotland and across the political spectrum of the democratic world. Even Ruth Davidson knows this, and that's why she has been careful not to comment on a Tory government refusing to co-operate on indyref2 legislature. Unless the polls show a large swing to Yes just now, then it could be in Sturgeons interest for Westminster to refuse transfer of powers and she could go into the next parliament term with a total unambiguous manifesto of holding indyref2 in 2021. A very much win win situation for Nicola Sturgeon and the SNP government regardless of how Westminster reacts to indyref2.

Good post. However if I was sturgeon I'd take a bigger gamble.Full independence or dissolve the devolved parliament. Straight question... let's settle this once and for all.. let the old c***s shite it as they might lose their freebies

In any other society older people are valued for their wisdom and strategic outlook. Where as young folk are the ones more likely to take wild risks motivated by selfishness. It also might not have occurred to anyone that older people have had a lot more experience of politicians and see them for exactly what they are. Also older people will have experienced real poverty growing up and didnt have the modern day assistance of foodbanks and benefit top ups.

I've been around a long time and what I have experienced over the years from our rulers in Westminster just makes me want to get shot of the whole lot of the robbing b*****ds, and let our country make its own decisions using our own money. I have learnt the lessons of history and the way forward is independence

Good point. Why do old conservative thinking people with outdated fascist views and a nipple twisting delight for all things royalty, think that they can talk down to the younger generation and act as if they know better, when they refuse to move forward?

Older people never had access to the level of knowledge that young people have today. There's a world wide encyclopaedia of knowledge called the "internet" now. Watch an old person spend half an hour scratching their head while trying to figure out how to switch a laptop/pc/tablet on. Their "knowledge" comes from the state broadcaster and right wing newspapers. They don't know shit. -
