Nigel
.The trivial pish that people accuse you of lying about on this page is baffling. Do you not think these people live and work around people that post on here?....

I've heard worse from parents at schoolboy tournaments. The Scottish branch of the IRA marching freely, the denigration of anyone who supports the opposition party as "scum" are quite concerning. Really? Do you know that for sure? Which IRA? Official, Provos, Continuing, The Real or some other splinter group of crackpots? If you have evidence that these people are involved in terror groups then don't whinge about it on a fitba forum. Call the cops. Otherwise, being Irish or being in favour of a republic or even a united Irish republic does not equate with support for/ activity in terror. Meanwhile, two sets of former adversaries, both with links to terrorism are sitting down to share power in Belfast. BFTD
Lately, there have been a couple of unionist posters on here absolutely fizzing at the clopper (© @KnightswoodBear LLC.) for signs of direct action from the independence movement. And that's before you get into the bizarre attempts to compare the SNP with the Nazis in '30s Germany. How desperate are your arguments when, in order for you to be right, you start actively hoping your political opponents begin hurting people?
Frank Grimes
The SNP say the Tories denying IndyRef2 is unsustainable Sadly, they can deny a S30 as long as they want Really want to hear a Plan B from the SNP on this Crossing our fingers and hoping Boris fires over a S30 won’t cut the mustard for much longer

BFTD
Why's Mintermind so obsessed with the films of Mel Gibson? Film & TV forum for this pish. Spoiler I much preferred Maverick and The Man Without A Face.

They won't hold an unofficial referendum as it would never be recognised. The only other route I can see is a legal one and that's not guaranteed and would take a long time. Like it or not the UK government can just keep saying 'you had your referendum, respect it and get on with the dayjob'.

gannonball
Went to this yesterday, not really my thing so hadn’t been before but after the last general election felt I had to come, will most likely go to another this year now. Couldn't get over the size despite the rally being cancelled and the weather.

Ivo den Bieman
There is no way of forcing a referendum as 1. there is no legal mechanism to do so (pro-Indy blogger Peat Worrier has written very convincingly on this) 2. because oil / net contribution to exchequer 3. because they intend over time to undermine devolution and the SNP government by starving it of funds and slowly peeling away layers of devolved power. See powers being repatriated from Brussels as the first straw in the wind. Some new ideas are needed. Marching from A to B (particularly in yesterday's howling conditions) is very admirable but theatre becomes tiresome when it has no content, ultimately. This is the most hard right and dictatorial government in our lifetimes. The idea that they'll play along politely and "respect democracy" when the democratic outcome appears not their their liking is just laughable. They don't have to pay attention to this stuff, and they won't. The SNP's move, really.
Colkitto
If, as expected, the London Government will not agree to a Section 30 order this week. They will not recognize the mandate of the democratically elected Scottish parliament. Would it be fair to say Unionism is now Colonialism?
