Oh dear, that's a shame.

Not seen anything in Govan you like the look of?

Nah.  I  was in Glasgow earlier in the year and did view a few flats in Pollokshields and Hillhead to 'test the market' as a possible move once my wee yin finishes school next year.

The southside definitely offers better value.

Electricity transfers Scotland to England.  Handy info.

Interesting.

Wonder how GERS records this example of wealth transference from North to South.

Obviously such accurate figures as GERS will show revenue raised based on this 1 billion sale of electricity as directly attributable to Scotland, and not simply as an allocated proportion of a UK wide electricity sale.

......Oh wait. GERS doesn't have that capacity. How strange.

In fact, given our BoP surplus with rUK, I wonder what figures would magically appear if we could work out the revenue take on the sale of all taxable goods, services and commodities. Particularly when compared with figures currently guestimates through GERS.

A monumental accounting task and unfortunately an impossible one. This due to the understandable lack of a legislative requirement for the necessary record keeping whilst we are part of the UK.

However there is clearly a hidden wealth transferral....And it's big.

Is that not irrelevant since it's all been privatised anyway?

And single market rules would prevent us slapping tarrifs on the like of SSE and National Grid exporting power?

No it is very relevant. It doesn't matter if it is privatised.

A Scottish exchequer would quantify and level appropriatey accountable revenue from the private sector..

Something we will never have under the current setup.

The writing is on the wall for the Union and they know it!

Pleasing that they are starting to recognise that what is neccessary to preserve the Union is the one thing that Tories will never be prepared to embrace. A "progressive" union. This would involve recognising Scotland contributions and helping to elevate them, rather than Empire rhetoric and keeping us under their boot.

The last few years have maybe made it dawn on folk down there too. Its almost like they are slowly but surely starting to realise Indy would be best for Scotland, and dont know how to react in order to protect a purely ideological idea of union.
