HibeeJibee
First match played today... it is still June!... with LL runners-up East Kilbride defeating EOSL champions Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale 3-1 at the K-Park. I'll keep this OP updated with fixtures and results. Do post up all your corrections, match reports and sightings of famous trialists (and news of friendlies which may have flown under the radar) in here. So far only Edinburgh University seem to have no friendlies confirmed, although a couple of clubs have still got blank weekends which would indicate some further matches yet to be arranged or announced. Still another 5 weeks until the big competitive kick-off... The Moonster
Wasn't sure where to ask this but we're playing Edinburgh City at Spartans ground on Saturday and was just looking for the best travel advice/pubs close to the ground etc. Cheers
Grim O'Grady
There's a good cafe bar at the ground. There's 2 pubs in walking distance the Telford Arms on Telford road about 10/15mim walk away. Or if you are feeling brave there's the Anchor on Granton Road about 10/15 min walk away too but from opposite direction from the Telford. I live near the ground & have never been in the Anchor. The Telford is okish. But I like me ales so I go to the Spartans pub in leith, the Malt & Hops. I suggest you use the cafe bar, it's a lot less hassle. The buses to AP are from town the 27/8/14 The 27 takes you up Ferry Rd get off at Morrisons & walk up Pilton Drive, Spartans on left. The 8 & 14 take you round the back so the 8 get off 1st stop on Pilton Drive & walk back up the way Spartans on the right, the 14 you get off 1st stop past Pilton Drive & walk back on yourself then up Pilton Dr. Same as the 8. Ainslie Patk is behind the leisure centre. Taxi from town is about £15. Enjoy the day, I'm going to Duns. Grimbo

Thanks for the bus routes too, although it's looking like there will be a group of us getting a taxi from Haymarket.

gaz5
City score a last minute third? Let just before full time and it was 4-2. Played very well though, for decent spells the better team.

Seethrough123
Alloa only had handful first team players that have signed a lot them were on trail, by all accounts not a great game to watch , big joe beat twice in the air for both goals that's got to be a first for a while. Bring Back Paddy Flannery
Looking forward to our jaunt to Edinburgh tomorrow. Any particular reason why it's at Spartan's gaff? Wouldn't expect much of a crowd with nae supporters bus but there should be a few of us there.

It's far more cozier at our place, you can see the pitch from the seats. We have beer, wine & spirits on sale & the pies are the best (according to my mate). Enjoy our facilities Grimbo

If it's anything like Civil Service Strollers away 2 years ago then it will be a topper.

Wait 'til you go back there, they've done tons of work upgrading their ground. No a bad football team either. Grimbo
