If anyone knows of or comes across any games in Berlin on July 19th, 20th or 21st could you let me know. Not fussed on what level, just hoping to get to a game while I'm over.

Managed to find one for Wednesday the 20th Berliner AK 07 v VfB Lübeck. Not bring played at AK's usual stadium, but Stadion Rehberge in the African Quarter. Looking forward to it, both Regionalliga teams.

First round of BL2 games over the weekend. H96 kicked off proceedings with an away game down in Kaiserslautern. Just over 2.000 fans in the away end (club had laid on a special fan train, which had taken about a 1.000 of them).

Usual Pyro p!sh to delay kick-off, 1st half H96 never at the races and deservedley went in a goal behind. Keystone Cop defending with a horrendous attempt at a backpass going straight to the opposition. Quick pass from Terence Boyd to Mike Wunderlich then in the back of the net.

2nd half very much back in the game getting a well deserved equaliser courtesy of Norwegian Havard Nielsen.

Proverbial boot in the baws in the 92nd minute as Kaiserslautern got the winner.

40.579 in attendance. Considering the population of Kaiserslautern is 99.000 / 120.000 (city / plus environs)  having almost 1 in 3 / 1 in 4 of the local population in attendance has to be commended.

Noticed one of the flag / scarf sellers outside was still punting half & half Kaiserslautern / Kilmarnock scarves.

Next up, 1st home game of the season against St. Pauli at the god-awful time of 20:30 on a Saturday night.

Was my 2nd time there. 1st time was 6 years ago, also a Friday night season opener, (was a 4-0 win for H96).

Atmosphere at both games was really good. The block behind the home goal gets similar to the ‚Yellow Wall‘ in Dortmund.

A ground well worth a visit.

Fantastic to see Kaiserslaurten back in the second tier. Always remember them being one of the big boys when I was growing up.

Planning to visit Nuremberg for a pal’s 50th weekend in November, they are scheduled to play SC Paderborn (tbc). A few of us wouldn’t mind going to a game, instead of just spending all day in the pub. Not sure what sort of crowds they get, but Is it advisable to try and prebook tickets (even for Bundesliga 2 games) or is it easy enough to just rock up at the ground on the day?
Cheers

No need to book tickets in advance, no way it will get anywhere close to selling out. Paderborn are not a big draw, plus there won't be many away fans there. Exact date & time won't get announced till end September / beginning of October though.

Would probably make sense to buy tickets from the fan shop in the city centre. That way you‘ve got the train/bus ticket included when heading out to the stadium. In saying that chances of getting caught without a ticket are slim.

1st home game of the season, with a healthy 33.600 in attendance, despite the god-awful k/o time of 20:30 on a Saturday night. Sold-out away end as to be expected.

Off to the worst of starts with St. Pauli going 1 up in the 3rd minute. H96 eventually the better side. Half-time 1-1 following a penalty by Sebastian Kerk.

H96 looked to be heading for all 3 points, following a peach of a goal by Derrick Köhn. Köhn hit the cross-bar in injury time, only for it all to go to sh!t in the 95th minute with St. Pauli getting an equaliser.

2nd week on the trot that H96 have conceded a goal in the last minute of added time (difference between being 4th in the table or the current 14th)!

1st round of the DFB Pokal next week. H96 play Tier 5 Schott Mainz. Having to give it a miss due to expected train chaos (an unexploded bomb from WW2 is being defused close to Göttingen over the weekend).

Next BL2 game is away to Paderborn.

I watched it from my hotel in Munich, I've no connection to H96 but I was absolutely raging when St Pauli equalised.
