Bundesliga 2023/24

That was one of the most insipid, utterly shite performances that I‘ve seen, and that‘s including Partick Thistle & Scotland!
1-0 down after 2 minutes, 3-0 down at half-time A 4th in the 83rd minute put the icing on the cake for Nürnberg.

4 home games now. 2 comprehensive defeats against teams which are promotion rivals as well as 2 draws. Together with away losses to both Stuttgart & Hamburg, then any thoughts of promotion can in all seriousness be binned.IMG_5897.jpgIMG_5898.jpg

Fair fücks to the Nürnberg fans making the 300 mile trip North who were in attendance.

Next up, Dresden on Saturday.

Glad I watched this as opposed to the dross on display at Old Trafford last night. Superb performance from Nürnberg but as you say, an absolutely shambolic showing from H96. Wiesbaden and Kiel wins aside, it's been a shocking start to the season. Are the fans beginning to get on Slomka's back?

2nd half was a morgue like atmosphere with the Ultras going in to mute mode.

Appointing Slomka was seen as a cheap option and wasn't very popular with most fans in the 1st place. A pumping in Dresden would probably see him gone, but thereafter there is the international break.

After that it's Osnabrück, Sandhausen and Darmstadt at home interspersed with Karlsruhe, Heidenheim & St. Pauli away. If still at the arse end of the table then, then he'll be offski.

Schalke going top of the Bundesliga as it stands. Life can be strange.

Injury time equaliser for Köln means as you were. 3 points for Gladbach & Wolfsburg tomorrow would see them in the top two slots.

A long (9hr return train journey), but ultimately worthwhile as H96 deservedly took all 3 points in Dresden.
1600 H96 fans in attendance, with a massive (in my opinion over exaggerated ) police operation in place (2 water cannons, continual helicopter surveillance and umpteen police all over.

As regards the game, not the highest quality but good end to end stuff all game. Both teams down to 10 men in the 65th minute after some handbags between Kreuzer & Albornoz. Korb put H96 1-0 in front in the 72nd minute with Teuchert securing the points in the 89th.

Next up home to Osnabrück after the international break.

Only just noticed this. If the clubs tricolour is black white and green, why do H96 play in Red?

Schwarz-Weiß-Grün / Rot

Official club colours are black, white & green. Back in the day, someone at Hannover council assigned / decreed that they they play in red!

That's nuts! Amazing that they've stuck with Red considering the amount of clubs who have changed their colours in the early 20th century.

St Pauli release Cenk Sahin after he posted on Instagram in support of Turkey’s military action in Syria.

Bizarrely he's still in contract with them but they've said he can play for other clubs and won't be allowed to train with St Pauli again.

H96 still looking for their 1st 3 points at home, after a 0-0 with VfL Osnabrück. A fluid end to end game, but neither team able to have a proper shot on goal.

65th year anniversary of the current Niedersachsen Stadion, so aIMG_5937.thumb.jpg.5bd499b3c842262548902449ba25f196.jpg choreo to celebrate that. Also a good turnout from the Osnabrückern. (Last time watching them was when they were in the 4th tier playing my local team GSC08 Goslar.

Next up, away to Karlsruhe.

3 times H96 took the lead, but still ended as 3-3! Third time was in the 93rd minute, thinking „yasssss“, then the proverbial boot in the stones as KSC equalised in the 95th minute.

Last time in Karlsruhe, the plan was for a newbuild stadium to replace the old decrepit bowl shaped ground. Bowl has been squared off, with the East „Gegentribune“ demolished, and the South away-end currently similar to what‘s in place at golf majors.
Next up Sandhausen on Friday night.

After 6 visits to the Olympiastadion I witnessed my first Hertha defeat at the hands of Hoffenheim. After taking a 2-0 lead it was looking bleak for Hertha until a cracker of a goal from Lukebakio pulled one back and Salomon Kalou got the next to pull level on 2-2. Hoffenheim then went up the park and put the game to bed with a well taken header with 10 min to go. Ex Celtic player Derek Boyata had a torrid time and looked well out of his depth at the back for Hertha.
It's a big week for Hertha with Dresden at home in the cup with the away side bringing a colossal 30,000 supporters and the first derby game of the season against Union on the Saturday.
