SteveThePirate
Big question is, in light of all the big talk, has any Hearts fan got the stones or resources to match this with a donation to youth development at Dens in the event of Hearts failing to finish in 2nd? I'm gonna guess at no, It's hardly a fair bet. I'd be willing to make a bet that Hearts will finish above Dundee though without a doubt. Maybe not quite as much as £1000 right enough

RussellAnderson
Not going to do a full predicted table til the day before the first day of the season. Current thinking is: Aberdeen + Celtic to be best, Celtic to win the league but Aberdeen to push them closer this year. ICT to fall away. McKay, Watkins and Shinnie will be big losses but they could still make 7 wildcard signings that turn out to be amazing. Probably mid table. Hearts to disappoint. Top six should be the aim but the championship this year was not as strong as everyone said. St Johnstone could get third. Sutton is a brilliant signing for them, fits really well. Davidson getting back to his best could help them too. Dundee to have a decent season but have their top six spot nicked by Hearts. Motherwell are very difficult to predict. Looked shit hot v Rangers. Looked shit v everyone else. Killie, Hamilton, Thistle, County to make up the bottom 4/5 depending on Well. Depends on signings too. Owsley
With just one confirmed signing so far, a back up keeper, sadly... 1. Celtic 2. Aberdeen 3. Inverness 4. Hearts 5. St Johnstone 6. Dundee --------------- 7. Dundee United 8. Motherwell 9. Ross County 10. Partick 11. Kilmarnock 12. Hamilton
Aylo vanal
These are one off cup games though. You can't compare the quality of the 2 leagues based on one off games. It's moronic to do so. That was kind of my point....
Tony Wonder
Hearts also got absolutely rekt by Celtic twice so there's that. At 1-0 at Parkhead we hit the post and missed a penalty before they extended their lead. We were well in the game until that point. The cup game Celtic were fired up for it and we played for 80 minutes with 10 men, far better teams than us would’ve suffered the same fate against what is clearly the best team in the country. NoPapacNoParty
One things for certain, your team won't be winning for the foreseeable future. Conspiracy? I'd imagine we have a decent chance of winning our opening match tbf. If not its the selik supporting refs fault.
topcat(The most tip top)
Hearts also got absolutely rekt by Celtic twice so there's that. We're definitely going to need to strengthen if we're serious about the title

Elixir
Exactly.. There's a bigger gap between the leagues than you think. Look at Rangers humbling against what was a very poor Motherwell team. I'm not saying you guys will have a bad season- I would think you should focus on staying up before any aspirations of finishing top 2/3... Erm, we're not some diddy outfit. We will rightly be looking for a European spot straight away. The gap between your Queen of the South's and Falkirk's and the bottom six sides is minimal. Look at cup results from last season between those teams (plus Sevco and Hibs) and Premiership clubs. We utterly blew away the Championship last season and set a record points tally for a reason: because we were blatantly far too good for it. We'll be adding at least four or five quality players over the summer too.
Elixir
.... Can't see why these two wouldn't be willing to put money on the Hearts "juggernaut" Probably because I haven't tipped us to finish second, champ. Even though we utterly own Aberdeen, I'd be pretty surprised if we managed it. Hearts fans need to get realistic. The play off game was a good indicator of the standard of the championship. Top 6 for them will be an acheivement. Did you miss the likes of Hibs, Sevco and Queen's comfortably dicking Premiership sides out the cup last season? Hearts also got absolutely rekt by Celtic twice so there's that. Erm, as did near enough every single Premiership side. What a disaster for you. True to an extent, but when it's several results it certainly points towards something. Then you have sides like Dundee and Ross County who were promoted and finished in the top six. Neither were as dominant in the second tier as we were and neither have as big a budget. The dross sides in the league will probably shite their breeks in front of a rammed Tynecastle every week in any case.
Elixir
Why? Are Aberdeen better than you? Right now, clearly. If we sign well then who knows what will happen. They certainly have a honking record again us. They've also largely been playing utter diddies for the past two seasons, particularly last year. It will be interesting to see how things pan out. Griff Sheridan
Patrick shipped 6 and they had 11 for an entire half Whilst factually accurate, not a fair reflection of the game as five of the six goals were scored after Bannigan's sending off. County won the second tier by 24 points, lost 1 league game and went something like 34 games unbeaten, I'd call that pretty dominant. On top of that, Dundee made around 12 or 13 signings last summer then another 3 or so during the season. Single cup games doesn't show the gap between the two leagues as quite often the championship outfit will be more than up for it.
Mr Gandosaur
1- Celtic. Self explanitory2- Aberdeen. Think the best thing that can happen for Aberdeen is Celtic making Champs league group stages. Will allow them to run them closer in the league IMO. 3- St Johnstone. Kept the bulk of their squad, settled team, good manager - Inverness and United going through transition periods and having to replace key players gives Saints a good chance of grabbing 3rd. 4th - 10th is an absolute lottery IMO. Motherwell going through a rebuild, Hearts squad looks good but untested at this level, United were garbage from February onwards but still have some decent players, Inverness needing to replace Shinnie/Mckay/Watkins, Ross County doing their usual and signing randoms from all over, Partick being consistently inconsistent and with Dundee you never know what you are going to get. 11th - Kilmarnock. Shite manager. Shite squad.12th - Hamilton. Even shitter manager, even shitter squad.

BUNTS
Except it wasn't. Motherwell played better than they had compared to most other weeks and Rangers were knackered from having to play so many high tempo games in a short period. It was hilarious, but Rangers finished 3rd in the league, not top by 20 points. It's not like Hearts have no frame of reference as to what's required for the top flight either. Getting the right signings is key, but if we do I'd be hoping we're higher than just top 6. Ok so where realistically do you think Hearts will finish with their current squad? Serious question. Based on your current squad id say mid table.
