newcastle broon
What can the Rose fans expect at Gala. Are their decent eating and drinking establishments and how far from the railway station to the ground. High Street 5 min walk from galashiels station. Used to be a great night oot in Gala passing along various bars. You'll enjoy yer visit.
FuzzyBear
They have a social club under the main stand. Used to be a great night oot in Gala along various bars. You'll enjoy yer visit. Cheers nb. Should be a decent away support as it is somewhere we have never been and not far away either. May partake in a few light refreshments when we are there. VodkaTap
Away to Formartine United, Where?? I can feel a road trip coming on - with the bonus that my brother lives only 10 minutes away in Ellon !!! Big incentive now to ensure the motorhome is fully fixed and ready for the trip - I could be away for a week
HibeeJibee
One of those freak things but University of Stirling and Threave Rovers actually play each other in the league the week before, at Forthbank.
paleface
So many away trips v HL. My take: BSC Glasgow v Auchinleck Talbot very hard draw against the consistently best team in Junior football Strathspey Thistle v Edinburgh University long trip but winnable or at least possible to bring it back to Peffermill Preston Athletic v Fort William eminently winnable Spartans v Coldstream eminently winnable Threave Rovers v University of Stirling Stirling probably the happier of the two with this all-LL clash Gala Fairydean Rovers v Linlithgow Rose hard draw against one of the consistently strongest Juniors Cumbernauld Colts v Glasgow University plum draw of the round, eminently winnable Nairn County v Selkirk long trip and tough opposition but not a lost cause Fraserburgh v Dalbeattie Star long trip and decent opposition but possibilities Wick Academy v Whitehill Welfare long trip and tough opposition Formartine United v Gretna 2008 long trip and very tough opposition - difficult draw Was it fixed to give most o the ll teams honking away ties
Jute
Away to Formartine United, Where?? Ground is just outside village of Pitmedden near Aberdeen. Bus from Aberdeen Bus station takes about 50 minutes and from painful experience does not have a toliet so not a wise idea to have to many pre bus beers in Aberdeen. Craigyboy
Cracking tie for BSC Glasgows first ever Scottish Cup tie.....don't come much tougher. Think whitehill and star night do well actually. Interesting odds in the big league game. Can't imagine city have been second favourites- or even odds against very often in the last twelve months

HibeeJibee
It's interesting to look over on the main Highland League forum, which is called FitbaNorth. There people are predicting 9 or 10 HL clubs to go through - given there are 4 all-HL ties plus people would except Cove to beat Banks o'Dee and Huntly to beat Hawick that would mean 3 or 4 wins in the 6 ties with LL opposition. I imagine they are expecting Fort William to lose at Preston, and Strathspey to struggle at home to Edinburgh University, then either all the rest / all but one to prevail. Whether they're right or not, most of those odds are about what I'd have anticipated from bookies.
DuklaWandy
Should be a good crowd at Gala FR v Linlithgow Rose, which is where I'm heading. Rose been underachieving the last few years but still a very good side.
