Seriously is it really worth throwing away promotion for a few hundred grand? It's all well and good saying that but what are the Hibs board meant to do? Reject a decent sum of money for a player who doesn't want to be there? If Allan wants to leave there is zero point in forcing him to stay. He'll fanny about avoiding injury until he can move for ziltch. The ball is firmly in the players court these days. No matter at what professional level if the player wants to go and stands his ground normally the transfer goes through. I can fully understand Hibs fans disappointment and possible anger that their best player being sold to their closest rivals however if he decides to upset the Hibs camp he is better away. From Scott Allan's point of view remember this is his employment. Who wouldn't move for double or possible three times your present salary? If he goes we get Hibs fans having a total meltdown, an especially bad one if they accept an offer Hibs fans view as less than his value - likely since most of them think he's far better than he is - while if he doesn't go because Rangers can't make an offer Hibs deem acceptable it's proof they don't have the money and King looks exceptionally stupid.
